This is demonstrators continue to protest the death of george floyd hello everyone, im Catherine Heenan a string of cities now enforcing curfews and on some cases theyre already taking effect in some cases 8 oclock but people being told go home stay home. The Alameda County sheriff announced a curfew for the county starting at 00 08pm tonight lasting until 05 00am San Francisco. Same time frame sanderss curfew 08 30pm to 05 00am thats for the next 7 days Santa Clara County, the sme and that will continue indefinitely in danville theres a curfew in effect from 8 until 05 00am while not creek from a 6 oclock them so that has just taken effect there until 05 00am for the next week. Plus an hill a curfew for commercial areas from 07 00pm until 05 30am until further notice and santa rosa that citys curfew takes effect a date and again lasting until 05 00am through june 4th. The curfews dont apply to First Responders Law Enforcement people seeking medical help it does not apply to essential city employees, a credentialed media and the homeless. This is an earlier scene but they have since moved on to 6 80 in walnut creek they are reportedly blocking lanes of traffic theyre near the north main street exit. This was the scene earlier again it began a very peacefully in the downtown area. Were hearing that the chp has tried getting a trying to move the demonstrators off the freeway. Dan what is the the latest from your vantage point. Well catherine right now were we are on north right next to civic park where the protest was taking place earlier. Those protesters have taken to the streets but currently right now there is a sit in that is taking place right theres a line of Police Vehicles that have been our line of Police Officers and vehicles that have been blocking off. The downtown walnut creek area of theyve been trying avoid protesters going through the downtown area theyve closed off and as of just a couple of minutes ago were now at a curfew here in walnut creek that started at around 6 oclock tonight. Thousands of people were here earlier they as youve mentioned as you were tossing to this report have made their way some of them have made their way onto the freeway chp now working to disperse those people off of the freeway to allow traffic to continue on for those that were here heading up north main street towards the those people have sort of dispersed so we have not seen. Many of those protesters returned to the civic park area which im pretty much the the main Meeting Point for the protesters today. So right now of the people that have returned to the park area youre pretty much looking at them. They are right now are requesting that officers ive taken me with to stand for racial injustices, im one of the big concerns here tonight. Why theres been such a response in downtown walnut creek. I was the concerns and the bracing for potential looting happening in the city which we saw a sunday night to the Broadway Plaza shopping area. So far we havent seen any sort that actors here in this demonstration and its remained a pretty peaceful. So looking at some video a few moments ago of the fact that some of that crowd in split off as you pointed out. This comes as an autopsy this one commission for floyds family found that he died of a shun due to neck and back compression and the Minneapolis Police officer youre looking at him there nealon on floyds neck for several minutes, ignoring his cries of distress. The autopsy found the compression cut off blood to floyds brain. The weight on his back made it hard to brief the familys autopsy, a little different from the official autopsy. That one included the effects of being restrained along with Underlying Health problems and potential intoxicants and floyd system. And look this is Downtown Los Angeles protesters had surrounded the police suv and accelerated appeared to hit at least a couple of people before reversing and speeding away.
