he withheld aid from ukraine in exchange for an investigation into former vice president joe biden and his son last friday, the senate rejected the democratic effort to call witnesses and subpoena documents and that set the stage for the conclusion of the trial today the only republican to break ranks with his party on that final vote senator mitt romney s i acknowledge that my verdict will not remove the president from office the results of this senate court. >>will in fact be appealed to a higher court. the judgment of the american people. voters will make the final decision just as the president's lawyers had implored they will not merely that i was among the senators who determined that what the president did was wrong. grievously wrong. >>today's vote it does not promise closure democratic leaders are insisting the result was a legitimate they promised to continue investigating the president it is a sign of the widening partisan divide testing the country. the president tracking the corona virus outbreak in the evacuees who are now being quarantined here in california early this morning, 2 planes carrying 350 americans fleeing on china arrived at travis air force base in fairfield his video of what it looked like inside one of those places you can see everyone is wearing masks and everything is covered in plastic. tonight, we're told some of that q will be quarantined at a hotel on the base for 2 weeks as part of a federal requirement others will be quarantined at a different military base in southern california. officials say guests and staff at the hotel on travis air base were moved out. >>ahead of the plane's arrival this morning. the cdc held a press conference in fairfield to update the public on the situation. >>they're being held in the travis air force base in an inhale sing that is restricted has restricted movement because they're under corn team there is an outdoor each family has individual room and they're offered food and services wrap around services to provide their comfort, have to stay under pouring tea for 14 days. >>we are told one young child on that flight had a fever and when the planed for corona virus. the cdc says that once the 14 day quarantine period is up and if no one shows any symptoms on the base. people will be allowed to leave in return to their lives right now there are 6 confirmed cases of corona virus in california for them are being treated right here in the bay area. >>2 patients from san benito county are now being treated at ucsf in san francisco in 2 patients in santa clara county are also being treated. the other 2 cases are in southern california and tonight 5 hospital workers in santa clara county are in self-isolation until next week that's being done out of an abundance of caution and within the last hour we just learned the corona virus death toll in china has now reached 563 that is 73 more deaths. >>then we heard about last night in more than 28,000 people have been infected you see that number the close to 20,000 this is the johns hopkins web site that gets updated in real time. thanks to the cdc and the world health organization they track the virus across the globe. it appears that this map hasn't quite gotten the update that the associated press just released again within the last hour but the associated press reporting more than 28,000 cases use it we've posted a link on our website kron 4 dot com. so far the impact of the corona virus as more or less been confined to the health care and travel industry yet the second change of the outbreak worsens tonight deputies have served search warrants in connection with the 1996 disappearance of kristin smart the 19 year-old from stockton was a freshman at cal poly san luis obispo when she went missing after an off campus party. the search warrants were served for specific evidence items in 4 separate locations in california and washington. back in 2016 fbi agents excavated an area of cal poly that was one of several locations identified by canines trained in detecting the scent of human remains. officials say the case is active and ongoing the details on the search warrants have not been released. >>the man on trial for the murder of nia wilson was removed from the courtroom today for making an outburst just 2 minutes into the prosecutor's opening statement. john khalil was arguing where police are investigating a freeway shooting. >>happened in fremont overnight near the maori avenue off-ramp on northbound 8.80 kron four's will tran reports. >>the on ramp is open for people who need to go northbound 80 this is my re avenue it's free and clear but for a couple of hours in the overnight hours. it actually was a crime scene chp investigators had to shut it down they put yellow tape across the just to make sure that nobody even walks into the area as they were searching for shell casings it appears that they did recover 5 shell casings this involves 2 locations the second location there were 2 people in separate cars who were shot at instead of pulling over right here at the maher read on ramp to northbound 8.80 they keep going to a fire station about 3 miles away. they call police officers, police officers rushed to the scene fremont police officers chp investigators they show up they look at a black bmw that was hit there was also a white mercedes that car was not hit. those 2 people just picked up those 2 cars at around 3 o'clock in the morning and was looking to going northbound when all of a sudden shots rang out. >>they're driving separate vehicles in
