through this operation that they had it was very in depth and the majority of the stuff we're seen is being sold on the black market pros very blank suite with the san mateo county sheriff's office says this investigation was called operation shattered glass, the name coming from the belief that most of the stolen items were from smash-and-grab burglaries in cities along the peninsula, the multi-agency effort growing to a head thursday morning we have had a prolific amount of auto burglaries throughout san mateo county and a lot of the property that. >>was stolen in that was tied back to these criminal so we're very thankful to have them off the streets now police nabbed 8 people who they say were working together to buy and sell the stolen goods, the suspects were tracked to homes in daly city pacifica and san francisco with the money made from black market deals a million dollar home and 3 luxury cars, including a missouri audi bmw and tesla were bought police say all were seized along with a $150,000 one of cash we definitely feel this is the tip of the iceberg with this group and through this investigation we definitely feel like we will be revealing a lot more. the sheriff's office says they believe that many of these victims were tourists and they plan on finding out who they are and returning their things. >>when it becomes possible. meanwhile, police are still trying to learn some more information about the suspects reporting live in redwood city dan thorn kron 4 news, thanks dan out to the north bay sandra fell police have arrested a woman accused of stealing more than $5,000 in merchandise. >>they say she did it in a matter of seconds it happened at the victoria's secret at the northgate mall, just off one oh one this is wednesday night at officer got a call that a woman had left the store without paying the officer was able to find the vehicle she was in. and yes she had more than $5,000 worth of items she is now facing a number of charges burglary possession of stolen property and she had 3 outstanding arrest warrants, san francisco police have arrested a second suspect in a really ugly assault case. this is caught on surveillance video happened back in july area of stockton and pacific streets. 3 men assaulted 2 men in their late 50's and 60's and stole a watch from one of them police say they have arrested 20 year-old a smith of sacramento. 19 year-old shot pearson was arrested back in october but a 3rd suspect has still not been caught. >>i'm not our 4 zone forecast as we get a live look right now from our sutro camera word, san francisco, you see those little wispy clouds out there says that indicate something perhaps maker down the line i think it's a happy clouds bob ross would be proud i know you those clouds are going to i guess move out that other clouds are going to raid rain off but the good news is most that rain is going to come at night so your weekend really not going to be a washout but certainly there's a chance for a see least both days on the weekend you can see right now already seen the clouds rolling into the state. >>even some light showers popping up out there right now mainly in far northern california, plenty of clouds will continue to stream across our skies right now we're seeing a both high and low we've seen some dense fog out there as well and then you get the mid to high level clouds too so here it is you can see the storm system off the coast line kind of spin around out there, the main core lois staying well off the coast and that's really what you need to generate the energy to bring some intense rainfall. so i think for the most part this will be some lighter amounts maybe a quarter of an inch or so the west part of the bay area but to see this afternoon we saw the rain picking up to the north and then it just kind of started to fall apart as it drifted on through, but still there are plenty of clouds outside right now and that still a couple of pockets of some a brief uh sprinkles out there but remains mostly dry that being said tonight, mostly cloudy skies, some light showers a possibility throughout the night. and then tomorrow increasing clouds especially in toward the afternoon. that's where see the raindrops beginning to pick up especially in the north bay then overnight tomorrow night into early on sunday morning, a rain becoming likely it will be heavy at times. but if you sleep in past 7 o'clock or so nost of that has gone turning partly cloudy skies by tomorrow but that lisa sunday afternoon. temperatures outside right now mainly in the 50 stepping outside you can see the front that's sitting off the coastline that front is going to drift a little bit closer and as it does. but birds going bring that rainfall beginning tomorrow afternoon around the bay area and the showers are going to continue rain will be heavy at times overnight on saturday night into early on sunday morning, you'll see right here watch what happens says is a system and really just clouds up and early tomorrow morning, maybe a couple of sprinkles out there but not by much and then as we get toward the afternoon, a picks up a little bit more and then really starts to pick up overnight but late night we're talking 03:00am or so across the bay area, the main cold front tracks through brings a brief downpours and then kind of scoots on by and so you get toward the middle of the day on sunday and most of that is not just some partly cloudy skies couple of scattered showers over the mountain tops but otherwise we dry things out in the afternoon kind of a cool brisk sunday outside temperatures are going to be in the 50's in the 60's on our saturday with increasing clouds and a chance of rain in the afternoon little wet in the sunday morning, another chance of showers at least north of the golden gate bridge on monday and tuesday. thanks lawrence another big story we've been tracking now a second case of
