On all 3 of these developin stories first was going to start with the latest numbers on the kincade fire. So far that fire has burned more than 66,000 acres. Containment it actually went down from 10 to 5 overnight. The blaze has destroyed 96 structures, including 40 homes. 2 firefighters have been injured nearly 200,000 people have been evacuated and 80,000 buildings are still being threatened tonight. And we have Team Coverage this evening of the kim k fire the bad air quality as well as the pjd angle with all the shops. Prince Charles Clifford first his east of windsor near the fire right now chucwhere things stand. Well it has been a very a busy day here for fire crews fighting the can kade fire. Theyve been struggling to get some more containment on this blaze was going to take a look at some video kind of the story here fought road im standing ri ht now is spot fires small fires that have been burning throughout the day you go drive along the road here you can see these little fires pop up. They are all over the place out here and fire crews are spread out trying to knock them down. Also trying to build containment lines around the entire fire. Ive also seen some damage homes. Some out structures there was a small bridge that had caught fire, althouge nothing around the bridge had burned and thats kind of the story with these little embers of float through the air and land they can start these little random fires and right now our crews are back there trying to clean those up. Theyre also focusing on trying to get ready for the potential wind event that we are expecting maybe tomorrow afternoon, heres cal fire explaining how they they are preparing. So that has taken that smoke and pushing it toward middletown also kellogg in calistoga maybe toward the napa valley things going to begin to change though as we head in toward tomorrow fact were going to begin to see more of a northerly component to win so that is going to begin to drag a lot of that smoke right back down into the bay right or San Francisco toward parts of the east bay. And whats interesting about topography of the bay almost acts like a bowl so once that smoke gets in there. Its kind of trapped without a way to get out so many parts of of the bay in around parts of the east bay and oakland the hayward in the fremont youre looking at a lot of smoke possibly piling up as we head in toward tomorrow afternoon. Our quality certainly a concern the worst air quality in and around those with the fire right now. Overnight tonight, the winds will turn call that means all that smoke is likely to settle in that area if you live in and around that area and you havent evacuated make sure you keep your doors and windows closed tonight going to see a lot of smoke overnight tonight guys. Here the front steps of one home on chalk hill road in windsor that now leads to nowhere. The house completely leveled by fire. Its one of nearly 100 structures that have been destroyed by the kincade fire. Faint wisps of smoke still rising from the ashes. The address unreadable on the black and mail box. What was their front landscaping now charred there are a few recognizable shapes left behind what used to be a refrigerator and on the other side of some greenery that surprisingly did not burn a riding lawnmower you can see it had one of its front headlights and a tire melted in the heat of the flames. Firefighters worked to put out hot spots on a neighboring property across the street. Heres video of a spot fire flaring up where flames could still be seen consuming dry grass and turning trees into charcoal firefighters were scattered actively putting water on still smoldering ground and working to cut down trees on the verge.
