The city of gilroy had another vigil last night kron fours dan thorn was there. The Gilroy Community tries to brighten up a dark weaken their city. People gathering for a vigil at the intersection of 5th in monterrey streets, holding up signs and wearing tshirts that say gilroy strong many in the Community Say they wanted to honor the victims and im here to support our enemies in humanity been rocked to its core. And you hear about it on the news all the time and you never in a million think what happened in your little town and yet here we are christine won us says this has been a difficult time for everyone in their Small Community but she is especially sorry for the victims and their families. And i 3 people were killed and several others were injured in sundays shooting 10 yearold rafael she says he wanted to pay respects to the ones they lost. I think its pretty good. Gilroy resident Danny Melendez says its been incredible the see his friends and neighbors. Coming together after this tragedy. Well new information is coming to light about the garlic festival shooting the fbi revealed that the officers who shot and killed the gunman. Those investigators say that the officers responded in less than a minute to those shots that were fired. The names are eric crier 23 yearold veteran of the department. Del morale a 17 year veteran of the department and robert bass, we know a 13 year veteran of the department. Now right now all 3 officers are on leave and its unclear when theyll return to work. The police chief is praising their bravery. Theyre incredibly humble. I think theyre heroes. I certainly think that they deserve recognition for what they did. The fbi also announced that the number of injured people from the shooting. It went up to 16 theres a new victim who got treatment on their own. Contacted police saying that theyve been grazed by a bullet. Well a vigil in san jose was dedicated to the shootings youngest victim of the family of 6 yearold stephen or merrill set in a circle right in front of San Jose City hall they were praying in remembering the victims of the shooting, they held hands, they lit candles they held a sign that remember the victims. Just innocent little boy. None of this by 9. Says stop. And so families dont feel the pain. Stuff like this happens. Vendors say they make a living by just moving from festival to festival during the summer. And some say that having to wait to get their personal belongings back has actually slowed down their work. A man he stole from a store and then he tried to stop a Security Guard at least 2 time times that man then ran away and a deputy found him at night than morgan street not far from the shopping center. The deputy shot that man with a taser but it had no effect on him at the time then the man ran into the drivers seat of the deputys patrol car he got in the deputy tried to open the door but the man threatened the deputy with a knife. And this is when the deputy opened fire. That man was taken to the hospital officials save his wounds are not life threatening and the deputy was not hurt. Well a federal judge in San Francisco is refusing to allow the Trump Administrations new asylum rule to take effect the rule by the Trump Administration would prohibit migrants who traveled through another country from seeking asylum in the us now it would in effect prevent all asylum applications from central america. So for refugee assistance groups, they sue the administration. The us district judge has issued a preliminary injunction on the rule as trial in the case is pending. The judge turned down the department of justice request for a stay while it appeals the injunction. Happening today a public hearing is scheduled at napa city hall on a proposal to merge 2 Major Health Care providers. Providence Saint Joseph Health and advent his health. They want to merge together. They claim that the deal would provide improved access to quality care in the region.
