But those subjected to the force yesterday, peaceful protesters. Pres. Trump i am dispatching thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel,nd Law Enforcement officers. With that, demonstrators were gassed and shoved and pushed back from the Historic Church outside which they had been protesting. It was well before any curfew. I am terrified. What was it all for . Particularly outside the church. The president took a short walk to show he is in control and apparently to pose with a bible. The country is crying out for leadership, leadership that can unite us and brings us together. Leadership that can recognize pain and deep grief of communities that have had a knee on their neck for a long time. C. , tonight and he has been encouraging little leaders around the country to follow his lead and dominate. That is the word he keeps using two governors and other political leaders around the country, to step out what he has called looting and writing. Rioting. Extraordinary scenes. The west coast as well. One of the pictures of donald trump last night standing in front of the church and holding up the bible. He has come under considerable criticism from religious leaders for doing that. Silence from republican senators anmembers of congress. This is all going down fairly well with his basend with republicans who voted for a law and order president. In 2016, i am sure you heard the same thing. We ask people why they wanted to vote for donald trump, there were many people who said that it was the ferguson protest that made them feel that things were getting out of hand and needed someone to control the situation. This will be going down well with those people in spite of what others feel are stunts outside the very church that is to my right. Church leaders, including the episcopal bishop whose church thiss, are outraged. A lot of people in this country who these kinds of maneuvers are going down well, they do not find that he is coming down hard on these peaceful protesters. The ferguson riots happened under barack obama. Do you think it is different because it is trump . It is no secret that foreign leaders have had a negative opinion of president trump. Doesnt make it quantifiably different . It is different for a couple of reasons. The first reason is the language donald trump is using, the address he made last night at the white house, the comments of what he told the governors. We are going to accept no compromises and take no prisoners. That seemed to be the general tone. Previousresidents would have tried, whether republican or democrat, would find unifying language, the balm to give a nation. Donald trump made such a big pitch about law and order in running for the presidency. Look at the speech he made back in 2016 in cleveland. From january 2017 the carnage stops right here, right now.
