Across the bay in San Francisco, one of our producers saw a group of thieves ransacking a walgreens and decided to hit record. As Juliette Goodrich reports, the cameras did not stop them. Reporter on Easter Sunday, this brazen group grabbing what they please, wearing hoodies and carrying bags and backpacks, they went up and down the aisles, stealing merchandise. There is a Security Camera inside the store and a kpix employee was taking this video but this group didnt seem to care. And it was just like an ambush, base clichlt thats pretty much it. It was that quick. Reporter our produce who are took this video didnt want to be identified but described what happened. Took me about three seconds to pull my phone out and started videoing or filming and they just had no care at all. Were you concerned even standing in their way taking video e . No, i mean, its San Francisco, ill still kind of immune to it at this point. What was the reaction of the employees during and after . They did nothing. Basically. They just i think theyre also probably immune to it. Again, its that area, market and civic center, i think theyre uses to smashandgrabs in that area. Especially the walgreens and cvss. I think theyre taught not to do anything. Reporter sal is a vendor and goes into this store and others weekly. They think its a free all. You can grab and go as you please. And if you like that and want more, theres another day like it coming tomorrow. Make the most of tomorrow because by the middle of the week were going back into winter. Theres another system coming with more rain, but its also really going to do a number on temperatures. Were going to look at the drop coming up in just a bit. And later in sports, best College Player who can shoot the rock. And whoa, she was on display tonight. Her name is Caitlin Clark, and she just shot her way to another final four. Welcome back. Well, from the sky you can clearly see there is no way that this is safe. That is a huge chunk missing out of highway 1 near big sur. It crumbled over the weekend just south of rocky creek bridge. The highway is closed and caltrans has been shuttling people back and forth, some who have been stuck on one side of the highway and just cant get back to their neighborhoods or their homes, but with more rain on the way, those convoys, and importantly, the repairs could be delayed. Crews have to install hundreds of feet of concrete barriers just so the repairs can be done safely. And as far as rain goes, darren, it seems like that could be the reality for whats in our future . Its the reality. Coming in on thursday. There are several different aspects to this change, sara, and the most important part maybe for most of us is tomorrow is just as nice as today. Sunny and 70. So if youre enjoying this, and who wouldnt be, you get one more day. Its going to be fantastic. There are subtle changes that are going to happen between now and thursday which clue us into the fact that things are changing. Heres the first one. This is tomorrow morning. We come in for a closeup look here. The petaluma gap sits just north of point reyes. Theres a low spot in the hills back there which you can see tomorrow morning the marine layers going to fill in. It wont be too widespread, wont last long, the same thing through the golden gate tomorrow. Thats pretty minimal. If you dont get up until 9 00 in the morning, youll miss it. Wednesday you wont. Watch what happens on wednesday. Wednesday morning were all going to wake up, and its going to be may gray. The marine layers going to fill in pretty much the entire bay. That was strong onshore flow, and those clouds wont last long either, but higher clouds will stick around all day wednesday. So tomorrows the last sunny and 70. Wednesday it already gets noticeably cloudier, about 10 degrees cooler and windy. Watch what happens wednesday night. Strong onshore winds start to pick up. Were going to have 40mileanhour gusts on the coast. So wednesday, 10 degrees cooler, bit cloudier, and windy in the evening. And just to see whats coming our way for the big thursday cooldown and rain, look at the big pool of cold air up there in the arctic. Here we are. So were looking at temperatures in the atmosphere. Kind of tough to get oriented. Thats the gulf of alaska, and thats cold air spilling down to us. Its going to get here on thursday. So a couple of things to look another first before we get into the timing of the rain. Lets just do a little comparison on temperatures, because as we mentioned, tomorrow you get another day where many of the inland valleys are in the low 70s. Theres your preview of what really will be a fantastic tuesday. Weve got to say goodbye to that now. Heres how much cooler youre going to be by thursday. A lot of these numbers are like 20 degrees cooler. Let me just put the actual temperature on who are. Whereas weve got this on low 70s tomorrow, nobody gets out of the mid and upper 50s by the time we get to thursday. So that might be one of the more noticeable impacts here. Lets get into the details on the rain, and well time out that system as it approaches. You see that right there. Okay, so weve got a nice little band of rain sitting off the coast by thursday. It really doesnt get here until the middle of the day. So right here were taking a look at like noon to 1 00. At this point, mid thursday is the most noticeable timeframe for the rain. Widespread, steady rain through the middle of the day on thursday. And then and if youve been following along, i bet you know where this is going. On friday its going to turn into sdaterred on again off again showers with occasional thunderstorm, just like so many of the systems have done so far this winter. So were a little early on the forecast models here where were not really picking out a lot of High Resolution detail, but the general play through is going to be the same. When we look at this again tomorrow, were going to start seeing that pattern thursday and friday. Most of the rain is coming thursday, but there will still be some scattered showers on friday. And yes, some of those could come in the form of thunderstorms. Its not a major rainstorm, but its rain, and its going to be close to an inch in the north bay, maybe about 0. 3 of an inch in the south bay. Its going to snow in the sierra. Pretty low. Were going to get close to a foot at the higher elevations. When we look at the closeup view at i80 and highway 50, those are the two ways across that we would all care about near the bay area if you got to travel. Theres almost a foot of snow up there. And snow level down to about 3,500 feet. So thursday and friday were going to go through the same drill. A winter storm warning up there, chains are required, and theres going to be admonishments that if you dont have to go, you might want to put it off. Weve been through much worse than that so far this winter, but that is still enough to make driving up there unpleasant thursday and friday. You can see that rain here, theres one more back here on sunday. Doesnt look super impressive on that sunday system, but theres a chance as we go into sunday an entirely separate system comes in with another chance of rain. Well have more of that as we get closer to it. And the other thing that stands out, which is why were doing two sevenday, 75 degrees for inland valleys tomorrow. By thursday it is low 50s. That is a daytime high. All right, sara, back to you.
