Me tell you something, according to a federal complaint against Joseph Emerson after being arrested, he told the officers that he became depressed six months ago and talked about the use of psychedelic mushrooms stating that this was the first time he took them. Reporter according to a federal criminal complaint, Joseph Emerson, the offduty Alaska Airlines pilot, tended to shut down the engines of a plane headed to San Francisco. The affidavit says emerson and the responding officer talked about the use of psychedelic mushrooms and he told the officer it was his first time taking them. We i cant imagine what he was possibly thinking because everyone knows mushrooms are hallucinogens and that is absolutely , absolutely by far no way are we supposed to, we cant even take cold medicine. Airline, and has over 30 years of experience as a pilot and instructor, this incident is extremely rare, because of all the regulations pilots have to go through prickly every six months, pilot medicals where they examine us extensively, physically, mentally, all aspects, and the faa has very tight, very restrictive regulations as to what we can and cant do. That includes a random alcohol and drug test , a standard set by the faa. In fact, in a statement the faa says the use of psychotropic drugs is disqualifying for certification purposes. But the captain tells me pilots dont get tested before getting on the plane, unless they are acting erratic according to the complaint, emerson was acting normal at the clock during the first half of the flight. But halfway between in portland, he told the other pilots he was okay, and through his headset before pulling the two red handles that would activate the Fire Suppression system. Police say a different part with a human driver hit a pedestrian, then got trapped under the cruise car and dragged about 20 feet as the car tried to pull over. The company also claims that stimulations after the crash shows that if the other car has been a cruise would have avoided hitting the pedestrian in the first place. Youre going to struggle to get up to around 70 degrees for highs tomorrow we start off pretty close normal point low to mid 50s by early tomorrow morning, some of the cool spots in the north bay valley dipping down into the upper 40s. We just dont warmup too far from there. Take a look at the forecast ties for tomorrow. Only up to around 70 degrees in san jose, up to around 80 degrees today falling short of actually hitting 70 degrees around los gatos, inland and the east bay also upper 60s to around 70 degrees normal highs there, 75 or 76, a halfdozen degrees below average, not as noticeable around the bay or along the coast, and San Franciscos in and oakland, temperatures in the north bay also on the cool side, mostly topping out just in the upper 60s. You will have thicker cloud cover overhead north of the golden gate and you also have the best chance of a few sprinkles maybe a light shower. But that is a huge maybe.
