Researchers found even significantly cutting down on pollution now will have limited power to prevent the collapse of the ice sheet. Lets check in with first alert meteorologist paul heggen. Were talking about a day to dry out after yesterday being hit with showers and rain. Yeah. A tenth of an inch to a quarter inch for most of us. Adding a little moisture to the fire fuels across the bay area, we are always grateful for this this time of year. Today temperatures returned to whats normal for this time of year. High pressure over the pacific nudging close enough to send temperatures back up to appropriate late october levels, one more day like that tomorrow, but then big changes. Look at the tenday outlook for livermore, high tomorrow around 80 degrees and almost a dozen degrees cooler on wednesday and somewhat breezy and temperatures hover below average down to the mid60s for highs in the trivalley by friday, saturday, and sunday and once we warm back up, well still end up a little below normal as we round the corner into early november. Next wednesday is the 1st day of november, believe it or not. Even with the cool air, our rain chances are limited. The storm system delivering that cooler air wouldnt have access to a lot of moisture. It will largely send what it does have to the coastlines of oregon and washington. We have an outside chance of a shower or drizzle wednesday, slightly better chance friday into friday night, at best a 20 to 30 chance. Looking toward the west from salesforce tower, the fog is reforming as we speak. Temperatures topped out very close to average for the 23rd of october, 80 degrees in concord, 79 degrees in san jose, upper 70s in santa rosa, near 70 in fremont and San Francisco, low 60s in half moon bay, pretty much copy and paste forecast tomorrow for temperatures. The fog in the distance will try to push across the bay, but it wont make it too far into the inland valleys. You can see some intrusion into the trivalley and santa clara by early tomorrow morning, but where it does move into the inland valleys, its gone by 9 00 at the latest, should be plenty of sunshine for tuesday. Lows tonight dropping down to low to mid50s for most of us, very coolest spots in the north bay valley dipping into the upper 40s. Then temperatures tomorrow are going to warm up. One more day of at least slightly above normal temperatures, about 4 or 5 degrees above average for inland parts of the bay area, close to 80 degrees for san jose, better chance of the 80s in los gatos and morgan hill, low 80s in the inland in the east bay. Temperatures along the coast will be in the mid60s at half moon bay, near 70 degrees in both oakland and San Francisco, within 1 degree on either side of tomorrows average highs, not quite as warm as other inland parts of the bay area, but temperatures reach well into the 70s, even close to 80 degrees in novato. Everybody is in for that dramatic cooldown as we head from tuesday to wednesday. Lets look at the sevenday forecast. Well start with the inland parts of the bay area which will see the biggest drop, 10 to 12 degrees off tuesdays highs once you add it up for wednesday, so around 70 degrees or so by wednesday afternoon, which isnt bad. Its just going to feel cool after a warm day tomorrow. We drop down to the mid60s inland friday and saturday and not much warmer for the second half of the weekend, but very limited rainfall chances as these waves of cooler air roll in. Cant say its a 0 chance, but nothing to plan around. Temperatures around the bay, not as much drop over the next couple days, but well settle into that below average High Temperature pattern pretty much for all parts of the bay area as we head through the latter half of the workweek and into the weekend and cool enough highs along the coast friday and saturday with limited sunshine both days only reaching the upper 50s. Thats the first time this year weve had those forecast highs even along the coast falling short of 60 degrees. Nice and cool. Thanks, paul. Time for a check of whats ahead at 6 00.
