Now, i was able to speak with one of the leader whos is pushing for this site to tell us what it could mean for the community. Reporter elizabeth is the founder and ceo of dignity moves. A nonprofit that focuses on ending unsheltered homelessness and assisting and possibly developing this project. It does not end homelessness but it gets the person stabilized where they can take a deep breath and have a chance to work on what the permanent exits are. Reporter she shares that the solarpower housing site would provide beds but a full complex with amenities. The cabins will be placed on a land temporarily and be in a five year lease. Because it is temporary therefore it does not have a longterm impact on the environment does not go through the environmental reviews, does not have a longterm impact on zones use so it does not have to go by all of the zoning restrictions t opens up a lot of doors. Reporter thanks to a local businessman who owns the land is donating it to the city for this use for just 1. Works faster and basic dignified shelter and then require that they come inside and get access to services for the benefit of themselves but also the brooder community. Lets take a look at the sevenday forecast the temperatures peak on thursday. Could set records, all of us will be within two to three degrees in record territory on thursday and dropping off quickly.
