And i have been struck of the fact since ive been doing weather since before the beginning of time. When we did it decades ago, we would be lucky if we would get a threeday forecast that was pretty accurate. The fiveday forecast was a chance. Last weekend you said it would heat up and then sunday would cool down and then there will be some changes on the way. Thats exactly the way its panned out. You go to people and they will go oh, youre a weather man, you can be right or wrong. But im telling you, things are so much better now. Yes, we have gotten a lot better. Things are changing. Speaking of which, its going to rain tomorrow. Yeah. Now i see you believe me . Thank you so much for that, brian. It is such a great observation on. And it lifted my spirits there. You have been doing this a long time, havent you . [ laughter ] all right, lets get into the forecast. We started rolling the time lapse just at the end of fleet week. Watch all the boats clear out. As soon as that show ended, everybody took off. But thats what was really the important part of this time lapse. The marine layer started to come in today. You dropped 20 degrees today. It was actually chilly in the city that you could get out of the 60s in the upper 80s. That was very fast turnaround. Here is why that happened. The leading edge of the next system thats coming our way. We would look at this at the top of the newscast and lets get specific on the timing of the amounts with the first rainmaker, coming in tomorrow. Then here is the next one its a coming in on tuesday. Both of them are really going to the north of us, so we are not going to get a lot out of this, but we will get something. Lets step that down and come in for a closer look and slow that down. The leading edge of the first one and i want to come a little more local. We will start this on monday morning at 7 45. It hasnt started raining yet. Well take the line of rain out there, bring it onshore. Now we have gotten into that 10 00 hour tomorrow. Thats when the north bay will notice scattered showers from this. If you notice whats going on there, the cold front thats driving this in, that steady continuous line of rain that will break up and fall apart. So it is not like we would get that steady continuous rain. Instead you get steady on and off again showers. Very hit or miss. A lot of places that wont get any rain tomorrow, so dont be surprised if you dont get anything out of this tomorrow. There will be enough of it when we would pick up a quarter inch of rain. And i dont think that we will get much out there. From the city southward, it would be for the second half of the day tomorrow. Here comes the next one. Thats tuesday. Later part of the day. So monday, its in the morning. Tuesday, its in the late afternoon. Here comes again through the north bay, gets down to the golden gate, falls apart, and then thats it. If we look at the totals here for both days, we will add it up. Its not a lot. A tenth of an inch of rain showing up there for that first system that comes through. Now lets add in the tuesday rain and the totals go up a little more. You had to be looking to notice. This is not a soaker by any means. Boy is it going to be cooler. We did the big cool down for the bay today. This is the day you noticed it. Tomorrow, youll notice it over there. Thats when the temperatures will come down into the low 70s. 71 in concord and pleasanton. 67 tomorrow in santa rosa. It was 97 there yesterday and the day before. So that is a very fast drop. In the sevenday forecast, now we just kind of sit there. There are no big warm ups coming our way. There is also no significant storms coming our way with a little bit of a chance coming our way by the time we get towards saturday and sunday. Now notice some of the forecast models put a drop of rain in that north baby saturday. More on that as we get closer to it. Vern, over to you. All right, straight ahead in sports. I believe it is appropriate for families and loved ones and Mental Healthcare workers to have that ability to go to a court, but i want to see the strongest civil rights protections possible. I think that we ought to allow the experiment to play out before we agree on the National Level to replicate it. We have to strike that right balance between making sure that we can get people treatment that may be a danger to themselves or others, but also protect civil liberties. And it is a lot of friends and family. They are just looking for, you know, a better price, so they will move out to the other estate where the houses are more affordable than in california. Reporter they say affordability is the biggest barrier. But oftentimes, perceived in affordability is a major hurdle. Many people will see prices and immediately think they cant afford to buy here when there are often many ways they can. Come on in. You dont need 10 down anymore to buy a house. And a lot of us, its embedded in the brains from early on that if you do not have 20 , you cannot buy. We need to get together to help each other out especially the latino realtors to help our community. Reporter in doing that for her community, there is something she takes pride in. Bmo well darren, the air show ended just about the right time because you could see them coming across the golden gate bridge. Yes. It was perfect for the show and much needed for the cool down as we dropped 20 degrees in the city today. Its a huge difference. The start of what will be a more dramatic change for everybody. Thats bringing rain with a much bigger cool down inland than you had today. Theres the marine layer now as you can see it looking east where that stuff is starting to creep over towards the east bay. Now look at the numbers for today. How much cooler it was today than yesterday. Oakland and San Francisco was a huge difference. But even the inland valleys would cool down. If you take a look at what that meant for the actual daytime highs, we came down to the mid60s tomorrow. These numbers will cool down a lot more tomorrow. Theyll drop. Now here is the system that will do it. The leading edge sitting off here in the coast. Well put the rain in those clouds now and take a look at the big view and play it forward. The first one will come through tomorrow. We will watch that again in more details. But i want you to see the big picture of how theres two coming. The third one doesnt factor in much yet. A 10 chance for rain. But we wont focus too much. It doesnt look impressive. Now these dont look all that impressive, but theyre a lot more certain that we will get some rain out of them. The next one will then come in behind it, two distinct systems. When we time it out, thats tomorrow. Here is the first one. Its like 10 00 in the morning through the north bay where it will fall apart just as they get here. Then they will stick around for the rest of the day tomorrow. On again, off again showers will be possible at any point, but they were really widely spaced. There will be a lot of us that wont get any rain tomorrow. Plenty of places that do get something that we could measure, much more likely in the north bay. If youre south, you probably wont get a whole lot. Then we get to tuesday. The difference with tuesday, its a weaker system. There is not as much rain, which is insane because not a lot of mondays. But the difference in timing is also important because the tuesday system doesnt start until like the late afternoon. This is now tuesday at 5 00. And that then brings in rain through the evening for the north bay. Scattered showers will get down to the golden gate around sunset and then fall apart. As they continue to move south, thats it. By the time we get into wednesday, you know, 1 00 a. M. , it is all done. Rainfall totals are not super impressive, but still that 10th of an inch of rain for your first system on monday. Everybody else will get a couple hundredths of an inch. And the rainfall totals go up a tenth of an inch of rain at most for those inland valleys. Look at the daytime highs tomorrow. Youre only going to the low 70s. You were in the 90s today. This is a big drop. Tomorrow, youre really going to feel the cool down for the inland valleys. Youll cool down in the bay. We had such a big drop today. Today is the day you noticed it. Tomorrow it will be cooler. In the sevenday forecast, you remember that saturday . It starts to show up back there. Look at the clouds and thats about it. We dont warm back up again because the pacific is going to keep trying to throw the system. If you keep looking at the north bay, those are little drops there. There is a small chance that another system will come in next weekend, but it doesnt look super impressive at this point. He said oh, i was on that ship and that was the first, you know, that they ever knew. Reporter and then the survivors fan to plan regular reunions. Stephanie said it helped for them to be around people who truly understood. And very healing too for them. Because they had been instructed by the navy to go home and forget about it.
