Future cast can depict how the rain will develop and there is a line of showers that works its way through the bay area on monday. We skipped ahead to tomorrow, this is tomorrow in the afternoon and you can see a few light showers which are working their way in over the immediate golden gate. We want to take this back a little bit and lets bring this back to the timeframe for the leading edge. The rain does not really start until we get to monday morning. We will see some more noticeable rain here coming through the north bay in the Early Morning hours and into the early afternoon and falls apart. There was not a lot to this. The north bay would be the most likely to get any rain out of it and even if you look at the totals for how much rain we might get, it turns out to be maybe a quarter of an inch of rain for santa rosa. Another system will come in on wednesday but that is coming in too far north look at the grand total. There will be decent rain for monday and tuesday. For the far northern third of the state and we will put down another inch of rain in places like crescent city. If you look at how it tails off, there is not a lot for the bay. We do see the totals for santa rosa , for mondays rain perhaps 2 10 of an inch of rain but south of the golden gate there is not much. As we look at the sevenday forecast, it is the chance of rain for monday. It is noticeably cooler for much of early next week. There is a 10 chance of rain by next weekend and we will not focus on that much the marine layer deepens it so we get light rain for San Francisco. The focus is north bay, your significant cool down and you have the best chance for rain and you get about 2 10 of an inch on monday. To be a few showers on tuesday from the neck system but they dont look impressive. San jose does not register. You will notice the cause a monday but you will not get much rain that is measurable and when we look across the sevenday forecast for the inland east bay, maybe a drop on monday but mid70s sounds better than upper 90s , where we were yesterday. Scientists in australia are trying something new to preserve the countrys coral reefs. They are putting the quarrels on a highfat diet. The goal is to help the corals build resilience against Climate Change. When water temperatures rise, quarrels lose the algae that give them their color and nourishment.
