Be extra careful, especially if you are traveling in a high profile vehicle. On top of that, meter lights are back on. We are getting word of a new trouble spot near Treasure Island westbound. We have a broken down big rig stuck in one of those lanes. You can see that line of red showing up on our maps. It is slow and go on the incline. Once you pass that point, things look better heading into the city. We are getting word of a new trouble spot on westbound 980 at jackson street. A crash where there was some debris in the roadway. Lanes are blocked, chp heading out to the scene. In an effort to curb the spread of coronavirus, a stay athome order is now in effect for much of the bay area. Alameda county just made the list at midnight. San francisco, contra costa, and santa clara went into effect at 10 00 last night. Marin will join them at noon tomorrow. It feels like we are waking up in early march or late march. It is unfortunate especially for businesses like mels. Take a look at what they have done in order to be able to stay open. They have all of this outdoor seating. They have a whole set of heaters. They are decorated for a Christmas Holiday but it wont be a very Merry Christmas for them. Because of those orders that went into place at 10 00 p. M. Last night in San Francisco, essential workers only which is unfortunate for these businesses. That means no Outdoor Dining even. That means it is take out and order out. No personal services either. When it comes to retail, which is an important business this time of year, that is only at 20 capacity. These are businesses that have taken a hard hit already and they will take another hit at one of the biggest Business Times of the year. When this is over, there will not be too many people left. This is the last straw that will break the back of the camel. Reporter the sad part is there is already so many empty storefronts. You can see that there are closures left and right and that is not just in the city but all over the bay area as a result of the covid19 protocols. Officials saying there are almost 7900 patients currently. It also reported over 600 cases yesterday alone. South korea will toughen a social distancing measures starting tomorrow. Biden has named California Attorney general Xavier Becerra as his pick for secretary of health and Human Services. Becerra will be the first latino to run the department. What it has done is look at the toll plaza. Metering lights remain on but you are not seeing as many brake lights. You will see more of that across the upper deck. The reason why we have this high fire danger, this ridge of High Pressure to our west and is low pressure system to our east with that tight Pressure Gradient, bringing in the strong northerly winds. This is a big concern for us. The red flag warning for most of the region for today. Last time we had a red flag warning issued in december was back in 2017, 2014, and 2013. This is quite unusual for us. As we go through the day, you can see the winds easing. Not as strong as this morning but we will see the relative humidity values drop as we head through the day. That is the reason why that red flag warning will continue until 5 00 for the region. Unseasonably warm temperatures. We could even see some record breaking highs with that sunshine.
