Tracking the winds picking up. Up in the mountains, when discussing up to more than 60 Miles Per Hour and it is windy for many locations this morning. A red flag warning is in effect for most of the bay area until 5 00 p. M. All the airlines highlighted in red. Higher elevations with gusts up to 60 Miles Per Hour. Our valleys and coasts up to 40 Miles Per Hour wind gusts. The wind advisory for most of the bay area until 11 00 a. M. So watch out for flying debris, broken blanches and the possibility of power outages. You can see how strong the winds are, the camera really shaking in the wind this morning. Our temperatures are running in the 40s and 50s. A cool start but not as cold as last week. We could see some record breaking highs. In the mid60s along the coast, low 60s around the bay. Upper 60s to low to mid 70s inland later today with that sunshine. I will show you futurecast coming up. You mentioned the winds, mary. We have a wind advisory in effect for the bay bridge. Be extra careful as you make your way out. As we take a look at road conditions, so far, so good. No major delays as you work your way from the east bay into San Francisco. Starting up in the south bay, northbound 101 just before story road. The right lane is blocked. We do have a multivehicle accident that has been out there for a bit. As you head toward the altamont pass, there is a large boulder in the roadway. It is not affecting the mainlines outside of 80. However, westbound 580 is getting a little bit busy. We have brake lights coming out of tracy getting onto the 580 connector itself. In an effort to spread the curve of the coronavirus, a stayathome order is now in effect for much of the bay area. Alameda county just made the list at midnight. San francisco, contra costa, and santa clara counties went into effect at 10 00 p. M. Marin will join them a new tomorrow. All will remain under the orders from at least january 4. For many people last night, it was the last supper for outdoor diners until 2021. We do have a wind advisory because of these strong winds for most of the bay area, looking at northerly winds at 15 to 25 Miles Per Hour. It is possible there are downed trees and power lines because of that. We do have a high fire danger. This is a rare and late season offshore wind event. All the areas highlighted in red are under that red flag warning until 5 00 p. M. Today. The Higher Elevations looking at sustained 30 to 40 gusts. The valleys and coasts, northerly to northeasterly wind at 15 to 20. Lets talk about the coast. We do have a beach hazard statement in effect for this morning and afternoon due to the dangerous waves and strong rip currents. Please use extra caution if you do plan to head out to our beaches. Then, a high surf warning that will be in effect as we head through the rest of today and into tomorrow with those large breakers. That is 25 feet. Of course, we are talking about the waves into tomorrow as well. It is all because of this tight Pressure Gradient and those past isobars. We have a low pressure system to our east and a ridge of High Pressure to our west. Right now we are seeing the peak of the winds. We will see the winds ease through the day. We are looking at relative humidity values dropping as we go through our day today and into tomorrow. That is such a big concern because we have record dry fuels and vegetation. Everything is so dry out there. We actually had a dry year last year and now continuing into this season. As you look at our daytime highs, we could see some record breaking high temperatures as we go through our afternoon. Unseasonably warm, low 70s at least around the bay. Low to mid 70s inland this afternoon. There we go with that extended forecast as we are looking at temperatures cooling down as we head through the rest of the week. Looking at the possibility of more offshore winds i the middle part of the week. We will be watching that closely for you. Today and tomorrow, the warmest days of the week. Now lets check in with gianna. We start at the bay bridge where chp has issued a wind advisory. The extra careful if youre working your way through that commute out of the east bay into San Francisco. Two hands on that steering wheel. Pretty gusty conditions this morning. We do have an accident as well just reported that the bay bridge, not too far from the metering lights. Just past the toll plaza. A couple of cars tangled up here. It has now changed the locator to treasure island. Just a heads up as you work your way through there. It is not causing any issues or brake lights. We just cleared some debris out of the roadway on greenville road and altamont pass. Things should be moving much better in both directions. We are starting to see a pretty busy ride coming out of tracy on westbound 205 connecting onto 580. Things are certainly getting a little crowded for that right into the altamont. Travel times in the green. That is good news. If youre getting ready to with the roadways right now, westbound 580, 205 over toward 680, that is a 28 minute drive time. The east shore freeway is clear, also highway 4 as well as the 101 out of the south bay. That earlier accident near story road has also been closed. San mateo bridge looks good with no delays as you work your way from 880 over toward 101. Pretty light so far for the monday morning right across the bay. A man is recovering after spending the night in the cold wilderness with his dog. The pair got lost during a hike in marin county. Rescuers found him yesterday morning and the cascade area. The 71yearold was reported missing saturday night when he did not return home after dark. Yesterday morning, the man saw he had cell phone coverage and called a family member.
