Reporter because the Pfizer Vaccine has to be kept so called it is unlikely he could be transported in the air instead it will likely have to be shipped around the country via truck. The first dose of the pfizers coronavirus vaccines could reach ucsf and zuckerberg General Hospital before christmas if the food and Drug Administration authorizes an emergency use. The fda meets on december 10 to discuss the vaccine. Ucsf says they are ready and believes they could have the vaccine 3 to 7 days after emergency use is granted. It will take two doses of the vaccine to be protected against the virus. There are a lot of moving pieces as far as education and safety. There are reported side effects including high fever, aches, fatigue and headache. Into 50,000 pfizer trial most people reported feeling side effects after the second dose was injected. For that reason ucsf will not immunize entire departments against covid19 at once. If they are working the next day and they get symptoms they may not be able to come to work with a high fever. So we want to also not vaccinate everyone that works in the emergency room at the same time. We will stagger how we vaccinate. Also comp locating matters, the fact that the vaccine requires ultra store cold storage, it also must be thawed and administered within 48 hours after thawing. The ucsf health chief pharmacy officer says the campus is prepared. We have enough Freezer Capacity for quite a few doses in the hundreds of thousands of doses. San jose police say the suspect, Fernando Jesus lopez had a long rap sheet including several convictions before sundays attack race baptist church. The police chief says lopez was the suspect of federalized detainer from his last arrest. The mayor says that was ignored per Santa Clara County sanctuary policy. He should have been in jail, in federal custody, drug treatment or in jail in his own country but not on the streets in our community. On three prior occasions lopez had been deported and then ultimately returned to the united states. Tonight Santa Clara County executive director jeff smith says it is not the countys fault lopez was on the streets, its ice. These murders happen because of multiple factors.
