Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Lets start off with a check of our forecast. It is noticeably warmer out there. We are in the 50s. A lot of clouds out there for much of the bay. That is the first thing youll notice if you got to step outside this morning. In some places we are 10 degrees warmer than where we were yesterday at this time. If you were an early riser on sunday, it is 10 degrees warmer. Much of the numbers in the 50s. It is 37 in santa rosa, a huge difference up there. We dont have quite as many clouds in the northbay. Everybody will get sunshine by around 9 00 this morning. Clouds will clear out and we will go to the low to mid 60s. Gianna, anything on the roads . No, not yet. If you are out early this morning, probably a good way to be on the road ways. The only thing we are seeing is some construction spots. No delays heading into San Francisco. Taking a look at traffic at the bay bridge, so far, so good. An easy ride from the east bay as you head into San Francisco. Chp issued a wind advisory overnight for the san mateo bridge. Overall, traffic is pretty quiet. You can see a live look at the san mateo bridge. A 12 minute ride between 880 and the 101. Im anne makovec and we are following this developing news out of san jose. Two people were killed and several others seriously injured last night in a multiple stabbing at san joses Grace Baptist Church but we are waiting for more details this morning. The church is on east san fernando street right by the san jose campus. Police said there has been no confirmation the victims maybe homeless who were allowed into the church to escape the cold. There two crime scenes being investigated. One is inside the church and one is outside the church. Police tweeted that they are going to release more information this morning when more facts are known. These are san joses 40th and 41st homicides this year. We will keep you posted on anything we get on this. Back to you. Drugmaker astrazeneca now says late stage trials of its covid19 vaccine will, quote, highly effective in preventing disease. The vaccine is 70 effective on average in a largescale trial. The news comes after moderna announced earlier this month its vaccine is 94. 5 effective against coronavirus. Pfizer says its vaccine is 95 effective. Pfizer applied for an emergency use authorization last week. The fda could improve that in two weeks. Moderna is expected to apply sometime this week. Despite concerns, San Francisco would fall into the states most restrictive purple tear over the weekend, so far it hasnt. That means it is still not subject to the statewide overnight curfew. Health Officials Say it could fall back into the purple tear sometime this week. If so, the county would have 40 hours to implement that curfew. The coronavirus is now affecting more Californians Daily than at any previous point in the pandemic. More than 14,000 cases were reported sunday. The Positivity Rate is now up to 5. 5 . The state has hit a new daily record protesting. More than 265,000 tests reported sunday. That is about 86,000 more than the daily average. Governor gavin newsom and his family are in quarantine after being exposed to covid 19. The governor tweeted he learned friday night that three of his children had been exposed to a chp officer who tested positive for covid19. He said he and his wife jennifer had no direct interaction with the officer and the entire family tested negative but will be quarantining for 14 days. Happening today, Santa Clara County will start a dramatic rampup in its testing capacity. The county has recorded at least 284 new cases in the past few days. Right now, the countys main site at the fairgrounds does about 2500 tests per day. Starting this week, it is increasing to 3000. By early december, it will max out at 5000 tests per day at least three times a week. However, like other bay area counties, santa clara is discouraging the use of public testing for holiday travel. Terminals would normally be packed this prethanksgiving weekend but the airport was almost a ghost town we checked it out. The airport says about 58,000 passengers departed between thursday and saturday, down from about 80,000 during the same period last year. Across the bay, Oakland International estimated travel is down by 50 compared to last thanksgiving. We also asked san jose for their numbers but we have not heard back yet. Friday and saturday were two of the busiest days at usa airports since the pandemic brought air travel to a near halt in march. It was still less than half the number of passengers screened at usa airports the same time last year. Plenty of people are still choosing to go through with their thanksgiving travel plans. For the morning, we are mostly in the 50s and that is the first item in our headlines to start this day. It is a cloudy start. That is why we are so much warmer right now. We have a nice little blanket of clouds for much of the bay but it will be sunny and mid 60s by the time we get into the afternoon. We are about 11 degrees warmer right now than we were yesterday at this time. You can see the clouds if we look at it on the satellite. Plenty of them in the east bay and the south bay but if we play futurecast forward, they will all just disappear by the time we got to 9 00. By 10 00, it is blue sky and that is the way it will go for today. There actually is a little bit of rain just now beginning to develop off the coast. Watch what happens. That just falls apart. Sunny for the rest of today. What i wanted you to see on the longerrange was tuesday. There is a line of showers right there trying to get into Northern California by the time we get into tuesday afternoon and then that also falls apart. Bottom line, there is no rain coming our way in this forecast. Look at the accumulated rain, there was not a whole lot. Across the bay area as a whole, you will see a lot of low to mid 60s on here. We will take a look ahead all the way through to thanksgiving and we are staying mid to upper 60s for daytime highs with plenty of sunshine pretty much going across this whole thing. I am starting to see a few brake lights as you work your way on westmount 580 heading into Altamont Pass but pretty typical foismeof the morning. Super commuters making that track out of tracy. Things are starting to get a little bit crowded as you head westbound tour the dublin interchange. Elsewhere, also tracking a few brake lights on the dumbarton bridge, possibly due to roadwork. Checking in with chp, no accidents or incidents but there is some roadwork throughout the bay right now so likely due to that. You can stick to the san mateo bridge instead. But, there is a wind advisory in effect for the san mateo bridge. 27 minutes for your ride along the ultimate westbound 205 over toward 680.
