Here in california more than 1 Million People have been affected with covid and with the holidays around the corner there is new concern today. Hearing North Concord the Health Department is launching the testing before turkey campaign, encouraging folks to go to any of the drivethrough sites to get their covid19 tests ahead of any family gathering. In San Francisco as the virus numbers increase officials are worried that their testing sites will get jammed up. They are now asking those with insurance to go to your own doctor to get tested rather than use the citys free testing facilities. To make the testing sites are really meant for people that are uninsured or have poor access to healthcare, are symptomatic or who have had close contact with somebody who has covid. The Deputy Director of the San Francisco department of Public Health says that while San Francisco has fled the curve the city has to be very careful because the population density makes it so that covid spikes can escalate to quickly to catch up. Case rates and hospitalization rates can go up in the blink of an eye. By the time the hospitalization rates go up we have lost control of the virus. It will spread and we will see a lot more disease within the community. Asking and social distancing are still key. Officials are advising against large family gatherings for the holidays. But if you are determined to get together, out doors for shorter amount of times will help stop the spread. The rest of tomorrow, aside from the king tides, is fantastic, sunny and warm. Tuesday is different, we talked about this at the top of the newscast, one more replay to show you the timing for tuesdays rain. Thats at 4 am, you can see that wall of rain getting ready to move across the bay area. We will time it here and stop it at the important time frames. 7 am, moving through the north bay. Notice the organist line marching its way southward. By the time weve gone to 10 00 its right through the heart of the bay. And early afternoon it is starting to clear the south bay. Thats phase 1, widespread rain. Everybody will seat as it marches across the bay area then after that showers will fill back in for the second half of tuesday going into wednesday. The most impressive part of this will be the line i showed you for tuesday morning. But we will continue with scattered showers pretty much through the second half of wednesday. When you add up both days you can get anywhere from a quarter of an inch of rain in the south bay to maybe three quarters of an inch of rain in the north bay. And this will be a good snow maker, closed up to two feet up at the resorts. It is not fun to drive through. Winter storm watch tuesday afternoon through wednesday afternoon. Morning lows tomorrow, nothing different, mid to upper 40s is kind of mild compared to where weve been. Daytime highs are certainly going to be nice.
