Campaign 2020 has many bay area voters sinners opening up with voters returning ballots and record numbers. Here is the top of the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco, lit up with the word, vote. Always voted on the day of, and i get up early and that is usually my first stop for the day, voting in every election since i was 18. Today was not that bad so i appreciated the flexibility. Reporter by this time in 2016 the county received over 200,000 ballots but this time over 511,000 ballots are already in. The county has already broken the record, reaching 1 million registered voters. We encourage voters to make sure to sign the back of the envelope. Is sure to put the date and address on the back. That is very important, and the number one reason a ballot will get rejected. Reporter workers finis at the Mountain View community center, expected to have long lines and the fourth most visited location during the primaries. If you can drop off the vote by mail you can do so without waiting in line. You could vote in person but i understand there may be a bit of a wait so check the county website for the expected waiting times at the different Voting Centers. Santa clara county is already counting the ballots but could not announce the results until 8 00 p. M. On election day. Beginning this morning the coliseum and open arena will be the Alameda County largest Voting Center open from 9 00 a. M. Through 5 00 p. M. Through monday. It is open seven a. M. Through 8 00 p. M. Today will probably look a little bit better in the sky but we keep air quality hopefully good to moderate but tomorrow air quality will start to go back down and moderate category. Vallejo police are searching for a man that led them on a chase in a stolen car yesterday afternoon. It ended in a violent rollover crash and two people were injured. Investigators say they were innocent. Moments after the crash the suspect jumped over the retaining wall into the yard of a neighbor. The neighborhood was under lockdown while officers were hunting for him. They were right behind him and he hopped the wall but i dont think they did. That they were coming around the corner. That wall was pretty high. I was kind of scared. I was like where is he at, hiding in someones backyard . Witnesses said the Police Detained a woman riding in a stolen car with the suspect. The suspect is still on the rhine. San mateo police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man outside of a home where an injured child was also found at the scene near highway 101 and highway 90 to. They were called to the scene on eleanor drive around 10 00. They said on friday someone shot the 30yearold victim inside of an suv. The injured child was found in the drive or a but no word on the extent on the injuries. New video from turkey showing scenes of destruction in the port city with rescuers desperately searching for survivors among the rubble of a collapsed building. A powerful earthquake struck the region just over 24 hours ago, killing at least 27 people. The usgs said the quake was magnitude 7. 0. The quake was centered off the coast of turkey near the greek island and in addition to more than two dozen killed, over 800 people were injured. The victims were caught in the collapsing building and flooding from the tsunami that was caused by the earthquake. Tomorrow morning we will see more like filling the skies because even though it is getting darker one hour earlier which is what most people think about when we set the clocks back in the fall but the early risers notice an improvement on Early Morning light. As we take a look at the point source, heres the creek fire putting plenty of smoke in the skies. Today is much like yesterday meaning you will notice it if you look hard, but by tomorrow back in this scenario where you wont be able to help but notice. The sky will be hazy again. We have had a couple of days like that already this week. The air quality will go back down hill. But thankfully this is elevated enough that it does not look like we have to talk about anything worst than moderate. Considering what we have gone through so far this summer, moderate does not sound that bad. It will be more noticeable again sunday into monday. As far as today, heres the view from the top of the Salesforce Tower looking south over the ships in the bay. It is cold in the north bay right now. Here are the current numbers. Mid to upper 40s in most locations with 44 in livermore and 48 in san jose. Santa rosa is 10 degrees colder at 36 degrees. We are getting a little bit too close to freezing and it is 37 in petaluma. We have reached the time of the year where the sheltered valleys in the north bay will see morning temperatures dipping below most places. You get colder in the mornings. As far as the daytime highs today, low 80s. This is well above average. That is 10 to 12 degrees above average for this time of the year. Is the same story with concord and livermore at 83, walnut creek at 81. Oakland topping out at 76, novato at 73 with 83 in santa rosa. Even though you start out cold you will warm up like everybody else. Lets take a quick look at halloween. We saw san jose, but now lets get to the north bay where they will be cooler by 9 00 tonight. 23 degrees, and at 7 00 that is the prime time with 62 deg with the lightning bolts coming in we changed oakland subtly, a little bit warmer. It is not a real big difference across much of the bay, but since it some of us experienced slightly cooler temperatures in the evening, i thought it was worth pointing out. Its really the morning lows where we notice a big difference. Lets get to the headlines in your 7day forecast. By friday into saturday we will get a significant enough of a cooldown back to average, and a small, keep your fingers crossed chance of rain by friday and saturday. The people going to decide to find a careful way or cautious way to go trickor treating, the weather will be perfect.
