Temperatures are a little bit cooler with on shore flow kicking back in. We will warm up as we look to the weekend. A live look, temperatures are in the 40s and 50s to start our day. Its another chilly start with 47 concord, 54 oakland with patchy fog, 47 livermore, 52 San Francisco, 50 san jose, 40 santa rosa. As we head through our afternoon, daytime highs a bit cooler in spots especially around the bay. Upper 60s in San Francisco, low 70s oakland, low 80s for concord. Well talk about our weekend forecast coming up in a few minutes. Good morning on this friday as we take a look at the roads. We have a nice ride so far, friday light for the bay bridge toll plaza. No delays. Traffic is nice across the bay in the area into the city. Taking a look at traffic, weve got a couple things. One trouble spot along 101, a couple cars tangled up blocking the ramp. One snag as well, little slow and go in both directions. We are watching developing news overseas as france went into its second major lock down as the country continues to face surging coronavirus cases there. This is a strict lock down, similar to what we saw around here at the beginning of this pandemic. People are allowed to go outside for work, doctors visits, to buy necessities. Theyre allowed one hour of exercise per day outside and they cant go further than a half mile from their homes. Theyre pretty serious. People need documents to carry with them to justify their presence outside. Travel within france, visits to friends and family, off limits. School will remain open. Any student six or over will have to wear a mask. All the new rules are in effect through december 1. Back to you. This morning, San Francisco is leading the charge in containing coronavirus. The city is reporting the lowest death rate of any major u. S. City. Daily coronavirus cases nationwide reached a new single day high yesterday with more than 88,000 cases. Thats according to data from Johns Hopkins university. 41 states saw at least a 10 increase in new cases this week compared to last week. Here in the bay area, cases have been relatively low compared to other regions and San Francisco has the lowest death rate. One reason why, companies transition to working from home much quicker than other parts of the country and county Health Departments implemented covid restrictions faster than others and were slower to lift them. Solano, Health Experts are urging people to get their flu shots. The county is reporting its first patient with both flu and covid19. We have learned the patient is under age 65 and is in fairly good health. The person works in the healthcare sector. County Health Experts believe the coinfection happened because the patient did not follow proper social distancing guidelines. This person to the best of our knowledge did not acquire it in the workplace. They did what so many other people all over are doing.
