You would have no clue there was a significant change just from the way things are going to behave, today. And even for the 1st half of sunday, for that matter but watch how this map switches and you will see a different scenario. The direction has completely changed. Theres a lot more purple and those are strong winds coming from the north. Look at the time and that gets us to noon. Daytime highs today, this is normal. This number is right on the mark for where we should be. That means mid 70s inland, 71 for san jose and we will go to 65 for San Francisco. It hasnt gotten windy down here. This time, it will and in fact, it should get quite windy. If we take a look at the red flag warning, that goes from sunday morning through Tuesday Morning at 11 00 and that covers the entire bay area. You can see the details on there for that. Winds of 65 and 70 miles an hour up in the mountains and going along with the very dry air and humidity is the concern. We will be in the low 80s next week but all lies and the focus is entirely on this sunday evening through monday for the strong, offshore winds. A power shut off is a bit of a blunt instrument but you have to hope that they kill the power to those areas, that it does minimize the risk of wildfires like we have seen. It is a major reduction in risk but having said that, there could be other factors so we cannot rule them out. Even if they have a very successful Public Safety power shut up, things are so dry that there are several scenarios unrelated to pg e where you could have fires spark and the Public Safety power shut offs are one thing but what we should all be thinking about are the other power shut off that happened because a tree went down in your neighborhood. Even if you are not in the map, you could still lose power because of a significant enough wind event. Staying with the fire and 2 of the largest fires in colorado history are threatening to merge. There are no issues today and there are no issues for the 1st half of sunday, for that matter. It is sunday evening when the winds will pick up. 48 degrees in santa rosa and the daytime highs on your screen are all on the mark for average for this time of year. Get out and enjoy this one. The main issue about sunday that will be noticeably different from all of these offshore wind events we have had so far this season is that this one makes it windy down here where we all live so the wind advisory includes all of the communitys right down to sea level. So it starts sunday and 4 00 in the afternoon and goes until monday at 11 00. That could also come along with its own separate set of issues so the wind advisory is not really related to this red flag warning and this is talking about your street in terms of like a branch getting broken out of a tree or maybe a tree toppling over completely. These are the kinds of wins that will be able to do that sporadically in just about any neighborhood in the bay area. Here is the headline the red flag warning goes until tuesday at 11 and the main event is sunday night. We will see the wind speeds spelled out with 60, 70 miles an hour in the mountains. The majority of that is sunday night into monday morning and you can see that play out. Here is sunday and by sunday evening to the late afternoon, early evening, by 7 00, that is kind of the starting line. The winds moved through the rest of the bay area and we are using the general map that shows the actual wind speeds in the community rather than looking specifically at the mountain. It will be windy in the mountains. Look at the 34 mile an hour wind gusts in town for santa rosa, 25 for concord and livermore. Those are wind gust and that is enough to have at least some impact and it is the decrease in humidity that really adds to the concern. By the time we get to sunday late morning, relative humidity is in the 90s. From sunday morning into sunday night, we bought amount down into the Single Digits and even the teens and that is where we get into the concern. In your 7day forecast, there really isnt anything on a 7 day forecast that stands out like this other than the fact that it will get a little warmer. Even with these winds coming sunday and monday, it will actually get a little warmer but it is going to be the wind for sunday night into monday that are of course the main issue. It is kind of interesting. The temperatures are kind of low. It is really the wind we are worried about more than anything else. And is the dryness of the winds. The reason the temperatures are staying relatively warm daytime highs is that they actually tend to warm us up a little bit so it is not like it is a major issue other than that. A major test the tesla recall. 50 x being recalled. The concern is over potentially faulty and unsafe front and rear suspensions. Teslas share price was down 2 following that announcement. In the u.
