Today. Looking at gusty off shore winds and low relative humidity values and our temperatures as we head through our afternoon, looking from five to 14 degrees above average. 74 in San Francisco. 78 oakland. Mid80ss this san jose and looking at 9 degrees for concord. That second burst of off shore winds will arrive tonight through friday morning. Red flag warning will be in effect from 10 00 p. M. Tonight until 8 00 a. M. Friday for all of our bay area hills and mountains so the north bay mountains, the east bay hills and valleys, diablo range, san mateo coast and santa cruz mountains. We have i was tracking some delays there. I saw some red popping up near 880 at 23rd for construction. Looks like that has dissipated. Are you off to a good start for your ride with no delays there. Looks like traffic is moving for the most part okay as you head in to the pass. However we are seeing just a slight bit of red on the seven source just coming off that connector. If pg e does decide to turn off power itll be the second safety shut off in a week. A brush fire that shut down several lanes on parts of northbound highway 880 at stevennen creek is contained. This fire broke out around 11. No word on the cause. Also some families are displaced after flames ripped through several units in the building on boyton avenue. Firefightersare investigating what caused the fire. Crews were on the scene for hours making sure that it didnt restart. Its not clear how many are displaced, nobody was hurt. To the coronavirus now. A proposal to temporarily change the admissions process for Lowell High School has approved. The school board passed the measure last night. Itll conduct admissions through a lottery system rather than admit students based on grades and test scores. Itll apply to incoming 9th grade students for the 2021, to 2022 school year. Several Board Members have expressed interest in making that change permanent. The north bay mountains, east bay hills and valleys. Santa cruz mountains and San Mateo County coast under this red flag warning that kicks in at ten tonight. Looking at gusts 40 to 50 miles an hour and low relative humidity. Its because that strong ridge of High Pressure bringing warm and dry weather and that tight Pressure Gradient with those gusty conditions. As we take you hour by hour on future cast. We will see the winds let up a bit as we head through our day today. Again, the winds will kick back in as we look to tonight and especially into tomorrow morning. We will see the strongest winds with that second off shore wind event. Again, relative humidity values will plummet through the next few days, down to likely the teens, even possibly the single digits. Daytime highs for the south bay look be at 85 in santa clara and for san jose. 86 for campbell and morgan hill. For the east bay looking at daytime highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Looking at 90 for pittsburgh. 92 for brentwood. The tri valley in the upper 80s. Lookingat 74 in San Francisco. 78 for oakland and san leandro and the north bay topping out in the mid to upper 8os this afternoon. Here is the extended forecast and what you can expect as we are looking at temperatures cooling down as we go through the week. Through the workweek and especially into the weekend. Right around grant line this looks like where the delays sort of end. It opens up after that heading toward that dublin interchange. If you are going onto 680 traffic is moving at the limit in both directions. Your drive through the grade looks good with no delays. The drive time for the pass now 30 minutes to go from 205 to 680. The rest of the freeways are problem free. Thats good news. If you are going out the door early you plan to take the east shore freeway or highway 4 or 10 out of the south bay you should move from the limit.
