On sunday, President Donald Trump left his hospital quarters and took an unannounced drive past supporters out in the street. He also suggested in a twitter video that he has learned a lot about the virus. The president s medical team reported his oxygen level dropped to concerning levels twice in recent days. We spoke to one Bay Area Health professional about the president s diagnosis. President donald trump is especially at risk because the 74yearold president is nearing an age group that is considered vulnerable. Ct there may be a lso be a Silver Lining in his recovery. We have seen tremendous access to care and terms of availability of medication and resources. We are all hoping that this personal experience in this will lead to an increase of focus on the health and activities we are all trying to fix. Meantime, the winter flu season will make the countrys recovery more difficult, especially with scientific misinformation spreading and fatigue from social restrictions. As of this morning, the glass fire has torched nearly 65,000 acres. That is about 100 square miles, the size of sacramento. Despite low humidity and high temperatures, fire crews have made major progress bolstering the fire lines, upping containment of 26 . Some evacuations were ordered in northern napa county. Calistoga orders have been down graded to warnings and people can start returning home. This was the scene last night. Residents unpacking their cars, returning to a city that went dark seven days ago. One calistoga resident showed us the last picture he took of his home before leaving monday, not sure he would see it again. A lot of people lost their homes but there were a lot of homes that were saved. It is surprising. So grateful to all of the firefighters. We are so grateful that our town was saved. Of the city of calistoga has been evacuated twice in the last three years after the tubbs fire in 2017 also threatened the city. Wildfires have now torched 4 million acres in the state this year alone and the fire season is not over yet. The burn area, larger than the state of connecticut, is more than double the previous record. Sonoma county is opening a local assistant center to help people affected by the glass fire. Santa rosa residents will have access to Recovery Services and resources. The local assistant center will be located at Maria Carrillo high school will be open 1 00 until 7 00 p. M. It will also be open tuesday through saturday starting at 10 00 a. M. Today, Governor Newsom will give a update on the fight against california wildfires. They have the entirety of grove street shut down and that is because they are going to have a large area, socially distanced for anyone wants to come. The department of election saw an 80 turnout in the last residential election so the city is preparing for a record turnout for this one. Everything has been set up to maintain that 6 feet of distance between people. That does not matter if youre casting your ballot, dropping a ballot off, or waiting in line to go to the polls. They will even offer hand sanitizer, gloves, and facemasks. Masks are required. They have also implented sanitation and disinfection protocols for voting supplies. Basically, they are saying if you are worried about covid, that is not a reason not to come to the polls. I voted at city hall before. It is fine but it does get to be a lot of people in a small space. I have looked at the space across the street and it seems to have good distance. If you want to wait until election day, you can.
