Most of the smoke was pushed off to the east. You can see the red and orange dots downwind of the glass complex but also decreased air quality in the trivalley. Its not just the winds and grand level, the smoke plumes are pushing some of that smoke down into the trivalley and that will be a trouble spot for tomorrow. And of course in the north bay with unhealthier air quality for sensitive groups, at least when its at its worst tomorrow. But the breeze may be Strong Enough to push more of that smoke to the east. It is not just that the power is out, phone lines were also down in many areas and Cell Phone Service is extremely limited as we continue to deal with these fires. We also continue to deal with smoke and more heat on the way. We will track all three right now, starting with the next round of potentially dangerous fire weather. The fire crews may be able to make more progress getting things contained in the north bay. The problem isnt going to be the really gusty winds and super dry air weve had over the weekend and into monday morning, but windy enough to complicate things. Winds from the northwest trying to spread that fire out with gusts close to 30 miles an hour in the high terrain , and its going to be hot and humidity will be low because of those near triple digit temperatures. Theres also a fire watch near the dolan fire. The air quality will be taking a step back for the entire bay okay, especially around the coast and central bay and even down the peninsula but in the north bay and down into the tri valley, especially, the air quality is likely to be unhealthy, at least for sensitive groups for thursday and friday. I think the worst air quality is likely to be thursday. This is the forecast from the epa. Temperatures will be a bit on the toasty side tomorrow, reaching into the mid80s and quite a bit hotter in other parts of the bay area tomorrow. So exercise caution with those puppy pause, and temperatures will get close to 90 degrees in the Santa Clara Valley and around 100 e. Of the diablo range and trivalley, upper 80s and low 90s for the north bay and quite a bit warmer around the bay. Mid70s in the city, mid80s in oakland and made 60s along the coast.
