Two of the wells were among the 12 most pfats contaminated water sources in the state, triggering a required response from local governments. And our top story, a big time gang bust in contra costa county. The feds say popular strip mall was a onestop shop for guns and drugs. Investigators say the far reaching criminal enterprise was headquartered at monument plaza in concord. Juliette goodrich is there now. Reporter and im in the middle of this Shopping Center, where all of this illegal activity went down. And look in broad daylight, very busy. , this alleged gang was really no stranger to this area, and that is why the crackdown happened. State and local and federal officials joining forces for what they called operation boulevard blues. They said that the gang members took control of this Shopping Center parking lot and others, turning them into a onestop shop for guns and drugs. The defendants are alleged to have sold methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and firearms in concord, pleasant hill, brentwood, and elsewhere in contra costa county. Reporter 26 defendants in custody, 74 guns seized or purchased by undercover Law Enforcement agents, including a kstyle assault weapons and so called ghost guns. The fire participates have been linked to shootings and homicides in concord and richmond. These call cases from 2014 and 2015 actually involved multiple serenio gang members. Three of the homicides occurred in concord and one in antioch. Reporter the guns and drugs allegedly sold in broad daylight and in public spaces. A shock to some who live and shop in the area.
