At least one marine was killed and two Service Members injured after an accident on board an Amphibious Assault vehicle. This was during a Training Exercise and heres a look at the area, it happened in the waters off San Clemente Island. The vehicle started taking on water last night around 5 30 and five Service Members were rescued but again the eight remain missing and one was killed. The Commanding Officer in San Diego County tweeted this we are deeply saddened by this tragic incident. He said i ask that you keep our marines, sailors and their families in your prayers as we continue our search. All but one of the 15 Service Members on board were marines. The other one was a sailor. We are going to keep our eye on the search for the eight missing throughout the day. Back to you. Developing this morning, multiple suspects on the run after an officerinvolved shooting in the east bay. This happened last night outside the cvs on shattuck avenue in berkeley. Police say an officer stumbled on a theft in progress and when the suspects tried to get away, she fired her weapon. At least one person had to be rescued from inside. This morning we dont know of any injuries and crews were on the scene for several hours. Trying to get the fire under control. The Company Reported a total of 31 cases at four Different Stores in the south bay. The highest number of cases in sunnyvale with 13 so far. And thats where we find kpix 5s kiet do. Reporter good morning, to we got here at 4 30 this morning and the employee who had been Pressure Washing the front of the store just finished up here. He was doing it for about an hour and a half. Washing down all the picnic bl and rain and wa its looking prettyean re in ont thlocation here on Lawrence Station road. So the county has done a thorough inspection they say. They say that costco handled it all pretty well. They reported the cases and they have maintained all the safety protocols inned the store. In fact the store here in sunnyvale was quite busy when we were here yesterday. The location here on Lawrence Station road reported the infections happened sometime between july 23rd and july 26th. Now after inspecting the store, the county made a few quote minimal recommendations inside the employee areas. Health officials did not shut the stores down because their investigations indicate that the infections did not occur inside the store. The initial investigation appears to tell us that the cases have really been infected most likely in the community and outside the workplace. Although werdone with those investigations. Theyre ongoing. Reporter and the county Health Department says they are doing a good job at cleanliness and social distancing and mask wearing. And they say it is safe to shop at costco. Two Service Members are injured and in the hospital right now after a training mission. The others went missing more than 12 hours ago off San Clemente Island. We have the latest right now from la hoya. 15 and one sailor were on that Amphibious Assault vehicle when it started taking on water off the coast of the island of san clemente and right now a search going on for eight Service Members. Now this happening at 5 45 yesterday when it started taking on water. We do have confirmation that unfortunately one of those marines on that Amphibious Assault vehicle has died. That person pronounced dead here at scrips memorial. We are in la hoya. Two other marines also taken to various hospitals. One listed in critical condition. The other in stable condition. So these assault vehicles very common for the marine corps. They can transport marines from ship to shore. Theyve been used since the early 1970s. They can operate on land and in the water. Now they were on a routine Training Exercise with the 15th Marine Expeditionary unit and the ready group off the San Clemente Island. Right now the search efforts going on off the coastment they are using Navy Helicopters and multiple small boats from various carriers. And also the u. S. Coast guard cutter, the helicopter from the coast guard from here in san diego. So this morning, there are several families waiting anxiously to find out the results of this ongoing search. In california the majority of patients are between the ages of 18 and 49 and more than 293,000 of them. However, 43,000 cases involve children and teens up to the age of 17. Meantime, the state has set three death records this week. There were 194 deaths wednesday. Second only to tuesdays count. And the most recent seven day average, more than 8500 cases per day. He checked in with friends who work inside the store and now he feels safe. No problem at all. Think done a really good job. Now the projected path and likely increasing to category 2 storm late tonight into tomorrow morning and watch moving dangerously close to the east a. Cagostm. So the east coast of florida under the cone of uncertainty as we look to the weekend. And watch as this hurricane moves up the east coast as well as the northeast. Five Service Members were rescued and you are looking at video right now of the ongoing search. In fact, 13 people now have come down with that disease. In fact, a total of 31 cases reported by the company across four Different Stores in the south bay. The other ones, four in Mountain View and six gilroy and eight at the location on center road in san jose. Now the store here in sunnyvale was quite busy yesterday. This location here reported that their infection os curred sometime between july 23rd and 26th. Now after inspecting the store the county made a few minimal recommendations inside the employee areas. But its unclear exactly what the changes were. Health officials didnt shut down the stores because investigations indicated fa the infections happened outside the community. That big temperature spread with the microclimates from the coast to the inland locations. So well see that sunshine for most of us once again. Except for the coast. Heating up to 90 in concord and 91 in livermore and 82 for san jose with that sunshine. Clearing around the bay and breezy as well.
