And we are following the search for eight missing military members right now off the coast of Southern California. They were involved in a Training Exercise and at least one marine was killed and two others injured after they were rescued. They were in some sort of Amphibious Assault vehicle in the waters off of San Clemente Island and they radioed for help just before 6 00 last night. Saying their vehicle was taking on water. And that is when the rescue efforts began. But these eight Service Members are still missing. There were 15 people on board. All of them but one was a marine that other one was a sailor. Were going to keep our eye on that throughout this morning. Also following the investigation into this fire in San Francisco. It started early this morning just after 2 00 a. M. In a three story residential building. This is video from the citizen app and you can see the fire just raging there. One person and a dog were rescued from the fire. That person is now in the hospital. And the investigation into how that started continues. Thats on powell inbetween bay and francisco and still have down there blocked off. Back to you. Developing this morning, multiple suspects are on the run after an officerinvolved shooting in the east bay. It happened last night outside the cvs on shattuck avenue in berkeley. Police say an officer stumbled on a theft in progress and when the suspects tried to get away, she fired her weapon. This morning, we do not know if any of the suspects were hit. Police say the suspects got away in a dark sedan. Happening today, Santa Clara County will give an update on a cluster of coronavirus cases at costco. The Company Reported a total of 31 cases at four Different Stores in the south bay. The highest number of cases is in sunnyvale with 13 so far. And thats where we find kpix 5s kiet do. Kiet . Reporter good morning, so morning and we saw this one costco employee getting ready to pressure wash the front of the store. All the picnic areas and front of the hot dog stand and the sidewalk. You see him spraying the wall and the walkway there as well. So looks like they are continuing their cleanup efforts. Yesterday, the county said that they had done a thorough inspection and costco handled the whole situation well and reported the cases and they also maintained all the safety protocols inside the store. In fact store here in sunnyvale was quite busy here yesterday. The location here on Lawrence Station road reported the infections happened sometime between july 23rd and july 26th. After inspecting the store the county made a few quote minimal recommendations inside the employee areas and Health Officials did not shut the stores down because preliminary investigations indicate that the infections likely did not occur inside the store. The initial investigation appears to tell us that the cases have really been infected most likely in the coity although were not done with those investigations. Theyre ongoing. Reporter now the county Health Department says they are doing a sufficient job at cleanliness and social distancing and mask wearing. And they say it is safe to shop at costco. But the district and teachers are at odds on how that will happen. The Teachers Union is making striking allegations directly attacking the superintendent trammel for what they call her lack of leadership. An update by ousd takes aim at teachers wanting to do the state required minimum. It centers around daily instruction time. How much of it will be live. And the proposed workday. The update to families that attempted to blame hard working, ousd teachers for the failure of leadership in the central office, was outrageous. The union wants a 300 minute workday while the district insists on their regularly contracted 375 to 390 minutes. The union is also proposing spending just an hour with the students and using the rest of the time to plan and prepare. The Oakland Unified School district released a statement saying quote we will continue to work with oea to reach a compromise to ensure that both students and oea members are positioned for success as we launch the new year. And as we head through the weekend, that ridge of High Pressure is going to build. So that heat dome gets Even Stronger and with it well see temperatures warming up for our weekend.
