Local officials were making the decision whether to start schools remotely or not and now state authorities are implementing stricter rules. Public schools under the watchlist now more than 30 including San Francisco added today and we begin the year with Students Learning from home again. None of us want to see education virtualized. S in california and a record high of 6800 hospitalizations prompting the new mandate for students grades three and above to wear masks when schools reopen. We will bend the curve to the degree that we must. And that has put us in this position. In districts that can open the students will be encouraged but not mandated to maintain six feet of distance and every staff member will be tested and with 80 of the population living in watchlist counties 10,000 schools will be closed to start the fall for in person learning. The parents that trust us i know intimately are dealing with an extraordinary moment in their lives and their childrens lives and the pressure we put on the parents is very, very intense. If the School Reopens the reality of closing it again as possible and if the school sees 5 of students or teachers testing positive the entire School Closes with a mandated 14 day quarantine and if one in four schools test 5 Positivity Rate, the entire district shuts down and the governor is opening additional funding money will esuies that resulfrom distance learning. Along the coast low to mid 60s and upper 70s and low 80s around the south bay and upper 80s close to 90 degrees for parts of santa clara valley. Upper 80s for the trivalley with hottest temperatures on the east side of the applet ranged. Temperatures in the upper 60s to low to mid 70s around the bay and a couple degrees above normal and upper 70s and low 80s in the north bay with hottest temperatures farther north. New outlook calls for significant chance of above average temperatures as we head toward the peak of fire season in september and october and we will keep an eye on that.
