Some say that is just not enough. Reporter we have seen demonstrators gather outside city hall and streets and intersections of downtown san jose, tonight they decided to take their protest to the mayors home where they asked him to come out. He never did. That is because he was never home. Reporter their march to the mayors home tonight and their calls for the city leader to come out and listen to their message comes just two weeks after this. Listen to his reaction to being hit by a rubber bullet during the may 29th protests and while he is down, a flash bang thrown at or near him. He is one of many who say they were not part of the violence directed at police that day but were hit. My god, somebody shot me. Why . Because i am a good 10, 15 feet away from anywhere else. And 40 feet away from the police. The only way they would have happened if they targeted me. The mayor announced his proposal to ban rubber bullets is moving forward. Demonstrators say the proposal is not enough. Not enough. Not enough. You know, some of these cops abuse the power. Reporter they decided to sit to show their refusal to leave until he came out to listen. The problem was the mayor was not home. He was in a City Council Meeting to discuss the use of force between police and protesters. Unfortunate, unnecessary. A misuse of force. Someone needs to be held responsible. You dont do that to people. You dont i mean, i saw serious injuries. Reporter when demonstrators realized he was not home they decided to march to city hall to get his attention and that is where they remain at this hour. In the meantime, he asked the Police Auditor to create an avenue for people to report their injuries by police during the protest. In san jose, maria medina, kpix 5. Right now, firefighters are trying to contain a wildfire in sacramento county. The first calls came in around noon today and within a few hours it erupted to thousands of acres. Crews faced tough conditions with the wind and warm temperatures. At last check it burned more than 5,000 acres and 60 contained. Evacuations are in place but it is unclear how many homes are in danger. Another overcast night for the bay area. And here is something we rarely see, snow in june. Go back to whatever country you belong in. The targets were two americans of asian descent on wednesday. Late today Torrance Police identified her, she lives in long beach but has ties to torrance. Even though one of the videos, included her license plate, investigators havent been able to find her. The case is being presented to the City Attorneys Office as we speak. I dont know what sections there are. I dont. Lot of this might possibly might not rise to the level of a crime and some of it may. Reporter she isnt a victim but says she was assaulted at the mall by her in october. She says it happened in a restroom where there are no security cameras but she took pictures on her phone. Well, hundreds of young people took part in black lives matter rallies again tonight in san francisco. Big Group Gathering outside city hall. A 14yearold organized a march of her own and she told us she was scared her mom wouldnt give her permission and was surprised when she said yes. I was surprised she said yes. I thought she would say this is in the middle of a pandemic and we are facing a lot of racism just for being asian because of this covid19 pandemic. And how it originated in wuhan, china. And so she was kind of scared at first that we were going to do it but then later she was more accepting to the idea. Her mother says she was scared to let her daughter do the event because of racism she had witnessed. That china virus is very specific to your race, your background, and it just hurts. When her daughter asked permission she said it just made sense. She said we have to start somewhere. We will get there. Wow i think as a teen you are ahead of me thinking already. That get me thinking okay she should do this and she should do it with her friends and they have the belief and determination to change the world. Why not . President trump is rescheduling his first rally in months after lots of back lash. The rally was scheduled for june 19. The day celebrating the end of slavery in the united states. Covered california enrollment is soaring as the last two periods of the Enrollment Period come to a close. More than 155,000 people signed up for health insurance. That is twice as many as last year.
