Back in 2016, a woman was left paralyzed after a tree came down in the same park. 36yearold emma zo had been watching her daughters play in the parks playground when the branch fractured her skull and severed heifer spinal cord. Since then residents have pushed for more maintenance and rep placement of large trees along the park. The city approved a 14. 5 million settlement for emma zo after she was struck by that 100pound tree him. Theres no timeline in place for when the purchase will be finalized. If they move now, they forfeit rights to relocation from the university that could be substantial.
