Odonnell captain Michael Tarlavsky was an immigrant, who became one of milleys best lieutenants. I encouraged him to go to special forces and become a green beret. He did that. Then he was killed in action in iraq. Odonnell oh, my gosh. We visited his grave during the flags in tradition, when the old guard places more than 240,000 flags at each headstone in four hours with military precision. A boot length. A flag. A prayer. Tough kid, hard kid. If you dont mind, im going to plant a flag for him, say a little prayer. Odonnell why a flag at every grave stone . That is the symbol of our nation. Thats the symbol of the freedom that we all enjoy. And every single one of them served their country. For the first time in nearly ten weeks, traders will return to the floor of the new york Stock Exchange. The Trading Floor has been off limits since march 20th, with all trades conducted electronically. This isnt the first time the floor has been shutdown. Trade was halted entirely after the 9 11 attacks and again in the wake of super storm sandy. Dana jacobsen has the story. Reporter it is a timehonored tradition. The ringing of the opening and closing bells at the new york Stock Exchange. And while that iconic clanging wasnt silenced by the coronavirus pandemic, its home, the Trading Floor was. There is a claire i dont know crisis. You know what to do and when you need to do it. Reporter Stacy Cunningham is the president of the Stock Exchange who ordered the floor closed as the pandemic was unfolding. We were concerned about the Health Care System and putting any additional strain. We made the decision while we were learning more, take a step back, send traders home so we werent adding any additional strain. But it worked flawlessly, and thats really a testament to the teams and their preparations.
