The city knows that crowds will flock here, so theyve made some changes to make it harder to get here, actually. So beginning today. There will be no parking adjacent to lake merritt from now through monday. There will be no parking at all city parks through sunday. And there will nothing vendorrors food trucks at the parks also as well all the way through sunday. You can expect city ambassadors to be reminding people to stay six feet apart. City leaders are concerned the parks have become increasingly crowded over the weekend. So theyll continue to quote give the lake a break. Hopefully there wont be a lot of crowds and people will just be smart and use common sense. We see already that the numbers really havent gone down in alameda county. So i would say lets keep it going, in we can get those numbers down. And to give folks more options to spread out, they are shutting down some public roads as part of their slow streets movement. More circles are popping up across the bay area, trying to make it very obvious and enforce that social distancing. Take a look at marina green right now. They say a 72yearold man was on zoom with about 20 others when his 32yearold son stabbed him. People on the chat noticed the victim falling and the younger man covering something with a bed sheet, so they called 911. The son now faces a charge of seconddegree murder. New details on last years deadly fire in Santa Barbara county. Officials now saw the 34 deaths on that boat were a result of smoke inhalation, and everybody died below deck. Drive time is about 15 minutes now to go across the span. They did turn the metering lights on, so well start seeing a backup on the toll plaza as well, and youll see that in our live shot. Those metering lights will stay on until traffic dissipates on the upper deck and they clear that accident. In the meantime, use the san pablo bridge. No delays on the san mateo bridge. That traffic alert, due to an earlier vehicle fire. A lot of Activity Still there on the scene. Another spot where were seeing brake light throughout the morning is westbound 24 out of orinda due to road work. Its been there most of the morning. Delays there dipping down to 16 Miles Per Hour. Youll see closures throughout the weekend due track maintenance for b. A. R. T. Theyll be shutting down two lanes both direction, east and westbound 24 to stage construction equipment.
