Meantime, modoc county is already back in business in defiance of the governors order to stay at home. Lights are back on at bars and restaurants, with distancing requirements technically in place. For our community thats tight knit, i think its incredibly important for us to start opening back up. I think we have to be open. If we stay closed much longer its just going to be devastating for our economy. A pair of sacramento area newlyweds ran into some trouble in paradise when they went ahead with a honeymoon in hawaii. What happened when they tried to leave their hotel. Reporter hawaiis attorney general sent out this mug shot of the bride. She and her groom both busted. Arrested and booked for disobeying hawaiis quarantine rule for visitors. The Governors Office also states that the couple scoffed at the hotel staff when they were told to stay isolated in their rooms. Cleaning airport screeners told them they could visit beaches or parks. The couple came back after midnight with a pizza to check in, and refused to sign quarantine acknowledgement papers. Hotel staff were notified again they left their room the following day, and they were arrested. Looks like the couple will get an extended honeymoon in hawaii. Their first court date is about six weeks from now. Now to some developing news out of san jose. Kpix 5s betty yu tells us the latest turned deadly. Reporter around 8 15 this morning, police were called to the downtown area after a man was stabbed on julian street. They found the victim suffers from several stab wounds, and a male suspect armed with a knife. Police say when the suspect did not comply with orders to drop the weapon, officers first tried nonlethal force. When that didnt work, they opened fire, killing the man. Both he and the stabbing victim died at the scene. This is the Second Police shooting incident in san jose in less than 48 hours. On friday night, officers fired at a suspect who they say drew a gun on them, but no one was hurt. The police chief plans to release new details on incide a tomorrow. Juliette. All right, betty, thank you. One person is dead, and another is in custody following a multiple vehicle crash in san jose. It happened overnight at the intersection of almedden expressway and brandon lane. Police believe a 34yearold man was driving a nissan under the influence, when he ran a red light, and crashed into a hyundai. The impact caused the hyundai to crash into a tesla. Medical was provided. The investigation is still ongoing. The hyundai driver died at the scene. The tesla was driver was not hurt. The nissan driver is facing chargeand vehicular manslaughter. After learning the driver was on probation, they searched his home and found wads of cash, a loaded gun, and more than two pounds of cocaine packaged for sale. The suspect, 38yearold steven fisher, is now facing drug, weapons, and obstruction charges. Not clear why he was on probation to begin with. Starting tomorrow, vta will require face coverings for all riders and employees. The Transit Agency has been using posters to get the word out. Meantime, Sonoma County is opening two new test sites on tuesday in santa rosa, and petaluma. Tests will be free, theyll be open to anybody, but you have to make an appointment. A doctors note is not required, but unless you are an essential worker, you have to have at least one symptom of infection. The facility expecting to be able to test up to 130 people a day. We got some light rain. It was noticeably cooler up the there. Today, everybody evened out. If we look at tonight, the morning lows are going to be able to dip down into the mid 40s, which means it will be a little colder in the morning. For the daytime highs tomorrow, maybe add another two or three degrees onto today. Thats about it. So let me show you what happens next. The numbers come down a little, but not a lot. 89 for the daytime high in san jose by the time we get to friday. The average here would be 74. Now we start to see the numbers come down even more, as you get further into the influence of the bay. Oakland, average would be 70. Well do that tomorrow at 71. Were going to top out at 81 on friday, and even for the city, 75 degrees all of a sudden doesnt sound like all that big of a warm up. 75 for San Francisco is still 11 degrees above average, and 75 feels warm. As we get toward the end of this week, i think responsible social distancing, getting outside, and getting to the beaches, this is the kind of warm up thats going to bring 70degree temperatures to the beach. By this point in the pandemic, the six foot rule is basically tattooed on our brains. Its a lot farther than you think. Heavy cough, three, two, one. Reporter inside this lab at Florida Atlantic university, two engineering professors are measuring the power of a cough. Three, two, one. Reporter using a dummy, they fill its mouth with a mix of glycerin and water, then with a pump, force the dummy to cough. Then wait to see how far the droplets travel. Weve come close to 90 already. But we havent gotten into the low to mid90degree range. Thats what looks like is coming on friday. 93 right now is the warmest number ive got for inland spots on friday. That means low 80s for the bay, and 70s at the beaches. Yes, this is going to be one of those scenarios.
