Reporter good morning to you, jeff. President trump says hes not going to wear a mask since hes tested negative for coronavirus and assumes he isnt spreading the disease, even as the first lady suggested people should take these guidelines seriously. So with the masks, its going to be really a voluntary thing. Reporter President Trump uveiled new recommendations from the centers for Disease Control urging americans to wear cloth or fabric face masks in public. He made clear he wont be following them. Sitting in the oval Office Behind that beautiful resolute desk, the Great Resolute desk, i think wearing a face mask as i greet president s, Prime Ministers, dictators, kings, queens, i dont know, somehow i dont see it for myself. Reporter the announcement came as the president put pressure on manufacturer 3m to make more protective masks by invoking the defense production acts and used the same powers to ban socalled profiteers from exporting medical supplies outside of the country. The president s soninlaw Jared Kushner has been working with fema to oversee the supply chain from the strategic stockpile but came under scrutiny after seeming to suggest it wasnt for states. Reporter the Small Business Administration Says its already given out thousands of loans worth over 4 billion. The Trump Administration also announced it would reimburse hospitals that treat the uninsured for coronavirus. Jeff . Thank you very much. Now an update on the latest medical developments related to the pandemic. Here to discuss them once again, cbs news medical contributor dr. David agus who joins us from los angeles. Doctor, good morning. 250 million americans now impacted by the social distancing guidelines. How long will it be before we understand or realize how effective these guidelines have been . Reporter you know, theres a delay obviously, theres an incubation period of the virus, two to nine days. Then the virus itself has a course of several weeks. Testing in the United States still isnt where we need to have it in the big cities. And so we look at hospitalization rates, and i think theyre going or they should start to level off over the next week or so in many of the major affected cities now. What were worried about are the next wave cities that were alluded to earlier in the show. Then again there will be a lag between intervention when we stay inside, social distance, to when we see an effect on the virus. Theres been a shift on the guidance on Wearing Masks as weve talked about here on this broadcast. What should people know right now about covering their faces in public . Reporter they need to know they have to do it. I mean, this is something thats imperative. When you breathe on a mirror, those are droplets. If you go outside and youre asymptomatic remember people are asymptomatic before they get symptoms, and the whole course of the virus, you breathe those droplets can spread. You wear a home made mask of cloth, you can stop that and save other people and shorten the duration of the virus in this country. We all have to play our part. That is one of the ways, dr. Agus, that you can help prevent the spread. Were learning that about 25 of the people who are spreading this may be asymptomatic now, that have the coronavirus. How is that affecting how we are approaching treating and going after this disease . Reporter i mean, that, unfortunately, is the difficult part with this virus is some people have minimal to no symptoms at all and theyre contagious. When they go out, they dont mean it because they dont think theyre sick. They go shopping, they talk to somebody, they can spread the virus and it keeps spreading. If the virus keeps spreading, our period of being inside will be prolonged. We have to Work Together on this. I know it seems overkill, but Everybody Needs to stay inside. And when you do go out for necessities, please wear a mask. One of the things weve talked about with you throughout the weeks is the idea of treatments and the approach to this. Technology is playing a role. What can you tell us about where we are in regards to that right now . Reporter well, yesterday was a big step up. The secretary of health and Human Services azar announced that a new data base put together by oracle was launched. And every doctor in the country will register a patient now before starting treatment. If the patients outpatient, he or she will get an email every day and be able to update whats going on with their treatment. We will know what drugs work well, when to use them, who to use them in given time. It is very exciting that were going to collect data in every patient will be part of the cure. And were all going to help together. The data, the website for this is covid19. Oracle. Com. Every doctor, please go there and register before you put patients on medications because we have to learn from every experience so we can all get better. We have to be patient, as well, seems to be the lesson for all of us in this. Dr. David agus, thank you so much. There is concern this morning that the coronavirus could tighten its grip around the world well beyond summer. The United Nations said it will make a decision later this month on whether to delay its General Assembly meeting in new york which is scheduled for september. The number of cases worldwide rose past one million. The virus is being blamed for more than 59,000 deaths. Roxana saberi joins us from our London Bureau with more. Good morning. Reporter good morning, dana. Spain is now reporting the secondhighest number of cases in the world after the u. S. Its daily death toll dropped for the second day in a role. Meanwhile, china, where the pandemic began, held a nationwide day of mourning. With sirens wailing and heads bowed, china stood still through three minutes today, mourning the countrys victims killed by the coronavirus. [ sirens ] officially the death toll here is more than 3,300. Claiming to now have the outbreak under control, china has started springing back to life. While in europe, the death toll is soaring. For the first time, spain reported more confirmed cases than italy. Help is growing as the rate of new infections has been slowing. We all hope for better times, the pope said. He said, even if we are isolated, thought and spirit can go far, and he called on follow force stay home. The message is the same in the uk where the death toll has jumped by more than 20 to over 3,600. Among the victims, two nurses in their 30s. I ask you to remember amy and rema. Please stay at home for them. Reporter on friday, what will eventually be a 4,000bed hospital for coronavirus patients opened in london. Built out of a Convention Center in just nine days. The uk nearing the end of its second week in lockdown, there have been unexpected consequences. Wildlife roaming now deserted residential streets. Here in the uk, Prime Minister Boris Johnson says hes still selfisolating nine days after testing positive for the virus. Queen elizabeth has been staying outside london at windsor castle. Shes set to speak about the crisis tomorrow in a rare special address to the nation. Dana . All right. Thank you very much. Now to the stunning toll the pandemic is taking on the economy. We just saw how unemployment spiked in yesterdays jobs report. Other figures tell an even darker story. It is the number of people applying for unemployment benefits, 3. 2 million americans applied two weeks ago. Then that enormous figure more than doubled to over 6. 6 million last week. For more on this we are joined by cbs news Senior Business analyst jill schlesinger. Jill, im going to start with something that really stood out not even just the numbers, in reading from so many Economic Experts the talk that this will be more like the Great Depression than any recession weve ever seen has been out there. Can you give us any sense of how that might look in our modern time . First of all, lets talk about whats different. That is that weve learned a lot of lessons since the Great Depression. When people are thinking about bread lines, its very scary. Thats not whats happening today. We are throwing a lot of money at this problem. We are the richest nation in the world, and so were not going to see that. But the reason were going back to the depression is weve just never seen job losses like this ever. And as you said, with ten Million People filing for new unemployment claims over the course of just two weeks, lets put that in perspective. Throughout the great recession, there were 8. 8 million jobs lost over 17, 18 months. This is a sudden stop to not just the u. S. But also the global economy. And so were looking back to understand how long it could last and what we can do better this time around. And those unemployment numbers certainly are staggering right now. I know talking with a lot of people early in the process, they had a hard time even just applying for the benefits. Where are we now with that . Well, the state unemployment systems are really overdone, especially in those states that were hardest hit early on. So Washington State and california, new york, new jersey, these problems are going to be ironed out. So what i want to remind anyone who has been laid off or furloughed, you dont actually have to be a fulltime employee to collect unemployment. That has changed since we got the c. A. R. E. S. Act package. You should know if you run into a problem on line, try not to call. Youre going to be on the phone for hours. If you need help with your online registration for unemployment benefits, call your friends, get someone to walk you through it. But go ahead and do this because this is part of your lifeline that the state and the federal government is providing. Jill, we had the numbers up on the screen. Looking at the march jobs report, most losses were in leisure and hospitality. As you look ahead to the april report, what are you expecting to see then . Well, economists are very concerned that when you look at the report we just had, its really for the first two weeks of march. And so as a result when the next report comes out, we could see millions of job losses. I mean millions, one, two, three million. Some economists are predicting five million to seven million. And you look at that sharp tip, when you look at library euro and hospitality, think about the restaurants, the drinking establishments, retail, the next wave. You know, the retail furloughs occurred in the second half of march. We now know hundreds of thousands of employees, of retailers, have been sidelined. Whether or not they can come back any time soon is anybodys guess. But i think thats the next wave to see real problems in that industry. And quickly, the other issue, on friday, Small Business owners did start the process of a paycheck protection program. But theres going to be this massive influx now of applications. Are Financial Institutions and the government prepared to handle that . Well, they arent ready right now. And we saw a lot of problems yesterday. There is promises that things will get better. If you got a message that said youre not eligible, try again next week. Thank you so much. Well move to other news. President trump has fired the Inspector General for the u. S. Intelligence community. Michael atkinson who handled the whistleblower complaint that led to the impeachment of the president was removed late friday. In a letter to the Intelligence Committee mr. Compatrump said i importance that he has confidence in the attorney generals. That is no longer the case for atkinson. Come call it a delayed retaliatory action. The coast guard has suspended its search for two members of the kennedy family. The granddaughter and great grandson of robert f. Kennedy disappeared while canoeing in Chesapeake Bay off maryland on thursday. 40yearold mayv Kennedy Townsend and her son disappeared. First it is about 22 minutes after the hour. Heres a look at the forecast for your weekend. The government has just rolled out programs to provide Financial Aid to Small Businesses. Getting them up and running has been a huge challenge. Still ahead, why a flaw in one government website has left applicants feeling vulnerable. Plus, it may make you feel better about being stuck at home. Thousands of americans are stuck overseas trying to return to the u. S. , and time may be running out. Well talk to some who made it back. And later, delivering the goods. We are more dependent than ever on having items shipped right to our homes. See how one Startup Company is getting it done and doing good in the process. Three, two, one [ cheers ] reporter Eric Levinson put everything he had into starting the hummingbird inn. The petfriendly bed and breakfast he opened in maryland in 2017. Things were good until coronavirus forced levinson to close his doors. To go from a steady cash inflow that ebbandflows during the year to it complete flat lining. No new reservations. No new bookings, so no income at all. Reporter levinson turned to the Small Business administration or the sba for a disaster loan. He went on line and opened the registration page and found someone elses personal information. Name, address, everything should have been blank. Had someone elses information in it already correct, date of birth, Social Security number, email, phone numbers, business address, all of the basic information. Reporter he deleted that information and typed in his own. Ten minutes later, levinson got a call from a business in delaware that had all of his information. You go on the computer and theres someone elses information in the application, and then you get a call from someone youve never met before, and your information was on her application . Right, correct. Reporter what a mess i know. So on top of the stress i have trying to keep this business going, now i dont know who else could have seen that information. Reporter levinson isnt alone. Nearly a dozen other Small Businesses across the country told cbs news they experienced the same problem last week. This couldnt come at a worse time for Small Businesses. According to Todd Mccracken with the national Small Business association. Theyve got to know that assistance is coming, but they can count on those sources. These kind of glitches happen, it undercuts their confidence in the system and they might make different decisions. The Chinese Government is sending muchneeded supplies to pandemicstricken countries including the United States. Ramy inocencio joins us now from tokyo with more. Reporter good morning. Here in japan, Coronavirus Infections have now topped the 3,000 mark. And tokyos governor thinks the Central Government is now ready to declare a national emergency. Meantime in china, a very different story. Reported infections have plunged dramatically, and the country is now extending help around the world. A plane bearing the logo of the new England Patriots landed in boston friday. It had been dispatched to china where it picked up a shipment of 1. 2 million n95 masks. Governor Charlie Baker struck a deal with chinese manufacturers. Ships like this one to ensure that we are doing everything we can to keep our people safe and to fight this virus. Reporter these made in china scenes have been playing out around the world. Theyre not just shipping masks but personal protective equipment, ventilators, and even medical personnel. China sent over 30 tons of equipment to italy, delivered 500,000 surgical masks to spain, and donated five million more to neighbor south korea. Theres also the question of chinas credibility. The country has officially reported more than 80,000 infections and 3,300 deaths. A figure President Trump publicly disputed. Their numbers seem to be a little bit on the light side. And im being nice when i say that, relative to what we witnessed and what was reported. Reporter thats an allegation dismissed by chinese official as an unfortunate mistake. We sympathize with the u. S. As they face a severe situation, she said from the ministry of foreign affairs. I can imagine why some in the country are trying so hard to shift the blame. Now Chinas Foreign Ministry has also claimed its been open, transparent, and responsibility with its numbers. Its also important to note that many other countries have numbers that are unreliable at least to some degree. This morning we continue our promise to showcase recent books that may interest you during these days of social isolation. Nearly two decades ago, the book peace like a river sold more than a million copies and became a publishing sensation. Its author, leif enger, has followed that up with virgil wonder, about the adventures of a young man who runs a small Movie Theater invirgil warned happened. We caught up with the author last fall in duluth, minnesota, where the novels set. Minnesota is land of more than 10,000 lakes, but none of them are superior to this. The election ledlegend the largest freshwater lake in the world covers 31,000 square miles. Lake superior famously swallowed the ss Edmund Fitzgerald, immortalized in the classic song. Later that night when its lights went out of sight in the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald now superior serves as the starting point for leif engers moving new novel. Lake superior for me exerts a real attraction, a magnetic pull. When im near it, im happy. Its this beast. It is. Can you see it . Youre new here. You cant miss it. His back begins when the main character who runs a that you will Movie Theater on the north shore not unlike in duluth suffers a traumatic brain injury. Virgil goes off into Lake Superior and probably should not have lived. Hes not starting completely over, but pretty close. Kind of close. The neardeath experience and the struggle to start again is chillingly familiar to leif enger. You wrote an entire book yeah before this one and then threw it out. I did. Yeah. I dont i dont love talking about that because it it was such a hard thing to do. You spent so much time working on that before tossing it . Four years. Thats a long time. Look, heres what happened i got really sick after i was done with the draft. I contracted a rare strain of fungal meningitis. I was in the hospital. I couldnt think straight. I had fevers. I didnt write for six months. When i recovered, i read what i had written. I read the 400 pages, and i thought, oh, no, ive written a terrible book. I pressed delete. The character that emerges from his brush with death struggles with recovery. His brain cant find words. And he cant take care of his theater. The theater is essential to virgil wander. A place that provides shared company when its all too easy these days to watch on a screen at home alone. Like youve all signed up on the same small ship. Youre all going to the same place. Not everyone is going to see the movie the same way you do, and yet its this communal thing. Even if its a tenuous connection, its a connection. Youre out among your neighbors instead of at home watching netflix. Right. And that communal experience instead of streaming something on the iphone is a vastly different vastly different. Theres a magic to all of these books in that theres always things that cant be explained. Why else do you write fiction . In some sense, i absolutely believe in the inexplicable and magical happenings and in people around whom strange things occur on a regular basis. Which is a bit what happened to us when we met a character seemingly plucked from the book. People kept walking up and saying, youre duluths own virgil wander. And i read it and thought, damn, he painted his lobby the same color we did. Reporter bob boone owns the west theater in duluth and sunk all his money into rehabilitating it. For him it is far more than a business proposition. It helps maintain a sense of community, and thats what i thought was so important about this place. Reporter engers push to write about ordinary people doing extraordinary things goes back to his work in the public radio in the 1990s when he wrote peace is a river. The night before, 9 10, we did the first book event. There were people, i did a reading i didnt know what i was doing, but it was fun. I meant people, youre a writer. Fantastic. You get up the next morning, and everything has changed. Reporter peace like a river sold 1. 5 million copies and gave enger the freedom to write full time. Though hes never been in a rush. The best books are usually the ones that take a lot of time. Your books take time. This last one was a decade in the making. Im 58, man. How many of these decades do i have left . Keep plugging away. Im hoping the next one comes to fruition a little more quickly. You cant force it. You cant. You got to take it as it comes. That is exactly what people along Lake Superior have been asked to do for decades. Its shores once thrived with mining and shipping, sending iron ore to factories in the east. Lake huron rose today the industry is a shadow of its former self. Those who stayed want to. They believe in this land. And enger wants to keep telling their stories. My next one absolutely built around this body of water, this inland south korea. What s in inland sea. Whats next im not sure, but i know it will happen on Lake Superior. I could listen to Gordon Lightfoot sing all day long. And guys, for both of for everyone involved here, the author, the theater owner, it is less about just churning out product after product and making all that money. Its these are Passion Projects for them. And theyre committed to what they do. There Something Special about duluth, minnesota. One of the first pieces i wrote was on a watercolor artist there. I understand what this that body of water means. So special. I have to say, you know, were going to cover a book a week. Every single week i dont know how long, but its really your favorite thing to do, jeff. And now dana and i get to participate. With reading books who knew . With kids running all over the place and home schooling going on, its difficult to find extended periods to readment but we still try. I dont have books behind me. But i swear i have books in the house. Speaking of things may have been headed to sort of a storybook ending for one Basketball Team and one of its key players actually. The cancelation of the ncaa tournament put an end to that, though. Still, baylors Freddie Gillespie is counting his ble blessings after an extraordinary season. We will talk to him next. College basketballs final four was scheduled to be played today. Instead, because of the coronavirus, the ncaa tournament was canceled for the first time in its 81year history. Seasons and dreams ended like those of the baylor bears. The team set a school and conference record this season with a 23game winning streak. One of the reasons for baylors success, the play of Freddie Gillespie who as we found out in early march is a lesson in perseverance and faith. So this is the gym where you lived. Yes. Yes. There is where i spent the this is where i spent the last three years of my life, working tirelessly here. Freddie gillespie had no other choice. Arriving at baylor, a pool for nba talent, out of littleknown carlton college. Have you had a kid like freddie before . Never. And i think you just dont have players today starting out at a divisionthree school playing a total of 16 minutes for a whole year, and then coming to the highest level. Reporter scott drews in his 17th season as the bears head coach. When he came here, i joked. But he struggled to score by himself in the gym. What i meant by that is he was just real raw. Reporter as a kid in minnesota, gillespie poured his athleticism into football, not basketball. His first organized attempt at hoops didnt come until the eighth grade. Didnt love it at first. I loved being with my friends, like because the teammates and i play football with, almost all of them play basketball, too. The sport itself, i was like, i mean, it any time i touched someone it was a foul. I was like, well, there is lame. I dont want to do this. Reporter after a year off and a growth spurt which put him at 64, gillespie gave basketball another shot, and something changed. I was a bit more mature, athletic, by that time i started to fall in love with it. Junior year i decided i wanted to play the next level. Play in college. But i didnt really see division one as an opportunity. Reporter Division Three was, and carlton college, the small liberal arts school close to gillespies minneapolisarea home, is where he landed. I thought i can go there, still get a nice, solid degree, play basketball on the side, and get it out of my system, then work my office job. Reporter i like that, get it out of my system. You did not get it out of your system. I did not, no. I grew to love the game more and more. Reporter gillespie didnt play his freshman year but got time in the rotation in his sophomar season. Just like in high school, thats when something changed. [ cheers ] i was Getting Better each game. I was like, i feel like theres more to this in me. What a pass i could play at the next level. At a higher level. One day im watching a unc game talking about the size and the length and the athleticism saying one guy is a 72 wing span, mine was 76. Talked about the verticals. I have all that. Whats stopping me . It clicked. I thought i should be in division one. Reporter gillespie shared his dream with his parents. Really showed me how strong love was. She didnt bat an eye. For sure, this what you want, what you feel, figure it out. Reporter people dont get d3 to d1 does not happen. It doesnt. Reporter jared nuness, an assistant on the baylor staff, got a tip about gillespie from his dad, a High School Coach and former college star in minnesota whos also a gillespie family friend. My dad always said, you know, if he just came to baylor and had an opportunity to get to have us work with them that the sky would be the limit for them. Gillespies open [ cheers ] most of our walkons are 6 foot, 62, you get a 69 guy with the wing span who wants to walk on, you are receptive. At the same time, you dont necessarily know if theyre going to flourish and turn out like freddie obviously has. Ho beauty what a great setup again. Reporter they didnt have a scholarship for you. They made it clear if youre going to come here, freddie, this is going to be a walkon. That had to be a big decision. It was. I talked to my mom and dad about it. Basically, how much do you really, you know, believe in yourself . We believe in you, are you going to put the work in . Youve got to walk on faith. Thats what i did. Reporter which brought gles fee this gym at baylor. He set out the first walkon year which might best be described as his workout year. He really benefited from our strength coach, our nutrition program, and all the resources that you get at a powerfive school like baylor. At the same time, all the boring things that nobody really wants to spend time on, he embraced that. Working on right, left hand layup, reverse right hand reporter like learning your abcs the basics, one, two, three, four, you learn a foreign language, you got to count to ten. Raw to the point it was almost unbearable. Reporter how did you bear it . What i told myself is everyone in this gym no matter who they are started out where i am at one point. They may have been 7 or 11, but they made it, and if they did it, i can, too. Reporter when gillespie began doubting himself it was his mother who reminded him of a quote from a commercial featuring nba star blake griffin. Something noin my College Career told me you got to fall in love with becoming great. When youre tired, you have to find enjoyment in order to continue. Thats what i did. I learned to love the obstacles, the bad games, the ups and downs and all of it. Reporter the result gillespie was awarded a scholarship to play at baylor starting last season. [ cheers ] that was a definitely one of the highlights of my life. Just because you know confirmed all the hard work and, you know, confirmed that the people that did believe in me, that they were right and that i was right. Second opportunity for gillespie reporter this season, as a red shirt senior, gillespie was named a fulltime starter. Gillespie able to finish it off reporter he was an integral part of an historic run for the bears. And when we visited gillespie, baylor was on track for a numberone seed in the ncaa tournament. Ten for gillespie reporter how much fun are you having now in a game you learned to love in high school . Its better than i imagined. Every game is amazing. Also the guys im sharing it with are phenomenal. Having a great season helps. Breaking records. That makes it a bit more fun. Reporter the coronavirus would strike next. The ncaa making it official their will not be a there will not be a tournament. Reporter the tournament canceled and the bears run over. Freddie gillespies time in the game may not be. If the nba a dream of yours, to play in the . Yeah. Actually it is. I love the game. And thats the i want to play at the highest level. I want to play the best of the best. To me, you have to at least try. I mean, at least you know if you dont try, you just told yourself no. For me, someones going to have to tell me, no, you werent good you in. Never played it before. I learned the song that night. Reporter the lyrics, wise men say only fools rush in, struck a chord with the couple when early on friends questioned their whirlwind romance. But even the skeptics cheered when they tied the knot live over instagram. A nonsocial distance kiss. Reporter as they left the church, a procession drove by to wish them well love you guys reporter then of course it started raining. But gardner played on. I felt like i was in a movie. I looked at her and she was sobbing. So then i made sure to grab her and start dancing with her. That was just the most beautiful, special experience. And wouldnt have had it any other way. This morning on a special edition of the dish, Jorge Vallejo, his mexico city restaurant has been a dining destination named one of the 40 best in the world. Because of the pandemic, there are now baskets of produce paired with virtual cooking classes instead of dinner service. Last summer, i got a chance to look at Jorge Vallejo and his restaurant honoring mayan culture on a visit to the yucatan peninsula. In the heart of mexico on this lush plantation here picking beautiful flowers reporter chef Jorge Vallejo tends to his garden and his harvest. It all supplies the bounty of his new restaurant meaning corn in mayan. The story you want to tell to the people. One of the spinal cords of the mexican gastronomy or culture, its about corn. So for me its a very, i would say democratic ingredient because its not about the monetary value, its all about the flavor, the pureness of the ingredient. We are corn. His mission to establish a mayan eating experience by preparing humble ingredients with modern flair. I took it from, you know, only from one side. Reporter like escolar, a buttery fish from the gulf of mexico. Yummy. Proven when i gave it a taste. These flavors, what are the main main i look at you digging it up. Look at you. Mm. Mm. Oh you do have the smokiness of the fish . Dont dont eat all my fish. This is really good. Jorge, its delicious. I hope you enjoy it. Reporter equally as delicious, the beauty of the setting. The restaurant anchors a Luxury Resort on the grounds of an old hacienda. His restaurants have become a retreat for global visitors, and vallejo says recently have been a bridge to mexicos northern neighbor, the u. S. I will say 90 of the people that comes into the restaurant are not mexicans. Actually, we have to give english lessons to our waiters because probably out of that 90 , 60 of the people are americans. Reporter the restaurant is 45 minutes from the yucatan capital. It feels like a place from another time. So much of this area is influenced by mayan culture. It is. Its all about mayan culture. The people still now these days, they are very proud about their culture. They are very proud about being mayans. They are actually the ones that keep the tradition. Theyre the ones that keep the flavors. Theyre the ones that keep the keep the environment. Mexico is not one thing. If you go to oaxaca, they have their own traditions, their own flavors, even their own past. Reporter his own food story started early. I heard that when you were a kid, instead of toys for christmas, you would ask for roast chicken. I can eat chicken and rice every day. I have a 3yearold, probably the kids are the most wise people in the world because they live now, the present. For me, being a cook or serving people, its about that. Reporter that kitchen kid who had trouble concentrating in school decided to give cooking a try. I was just in my own world. I was lucky enough to find something that i can lose myself, which is cooking. Reporter but the restaurant also quenches a thirst for another ancient tradition. Tequila was born in mexico, and tequila jalisco. Reporter these are experts in tequila. You dont need to pour that much. Thats a lot. For me. Ichine has the largest question tila restaurant in the world, littlep. An dish would not be complete wow. Fire. Reporter fire. Without a lesson in the proper etiquette of tequila sipping. Tequila like the cuisine is to be savored. For chef vallejo, the way to honor his mexican heritage is to bring that mayan cuisine to the world stage. And thats what we want to showcase here in the restaurant. The pureness of the ingredients, but how it works in a luxury ambiance. Reporter Mission Accomplished because this has been rated one of the top restaurants in the world. Yes. Reporter am i wrong about that . No, no. Reporter why are you looking surprised . No, i feel, you know, very proud about what we achieved already. And just as i told you, im still learning. Im still like want to do more. For me, of course its, as youre saying, Mission Accomplished. But still not finished. Reporter let me tell you something, i was never shy about mexican food. Each less so now. Bring it on. Exactly. Group trip. By the way, guys, group trip as soon as the quarantine is over. All im going to say. We are mission mescal. All right. Up next, singer songwriter adeline performs new music.
