We sent kpix5 anesthesia andria borba to ask where the warriors seem to be except on the ban. Reporter the city has made a recommendation to cancel large gatherings of 50 or larger. They have voluntarily closed the opera, the ballet, even a 1500 event this weekend at city hall. But the warriors are not jumping on board that recommendation. The city of San Francisco is recommending all large scale events over 50 people be canceled over the concerns of spreading coronavirus. San franciscos st. Patricks day parade is canceled. But tonight, warriors came inside chase center with fans stacked shoulder to shoulder is still a go. Why . In a statement, the warriors said we are aware of the recommendations made today by the San Francisco department of Public Health. We are continuing to monitor the situation and guidelines of the centers for Disease Control and prevention. Were going to stop Widespread Community transmission, well have to take very bold steps. I would like everybody to do that voluntarily. Short of that, i will be urging together with my colleagues and the elected officials of San Francisco, our health professionals, to issue an emergency legal order that order would have to come from San Franciscos chief. We are trying a restrictive measure to control Communicable Diseases and will try to balance the tradeoff between restrictions between individuals and then protecting the community. So were also trying to make sure we do the right thing thats going to balance also. Reporter the order would only last seven days under state law and an extension would require a vote by the board of supervisors. I think the local officials need more consideration than their players but must consider more broadly the public. Reporter now it is a recommendation, not an order at this point. If an order came from the city and county of San Francisco to ban all gatherings of over a thousand people, it would go into effect instantly. But at this point, that order has not been issued. The city calls it a very fluid situation. What we do know tonight, ken, is that tomorrow the nba is hosting a Conference Call on this very subject and preparing for the possibility of playing games without any fans in the stands. One of the students tested positive for the coronavirus and the closures start march 12th. They last until march 25th. Including school buildings, classrooms and student related activities. In San Francisco, san mateo, and marin counties. The archdiocese of San Francisco says, quote, we understand the hardship this may cause for families. We made this decision out of massive consideration of the health and safety of our children and school and Community Members were learning that San Franciscos popular off the grid is being suspended. The weekly food truck gathering attracts thousands of people. And right now, just the march 13th and 20th dates have been canceled live pictures aboard chopper 5 over oakland where the grand princess cruise ship is docked. Passengers are being evacuated from the coronavirus stricken cruise ship. So far tonight, we know that more than 670 people were disembarked from that ship. More than 170 of those passengers are u. S. Citizens and nearly 150 were transported by bus yesterday to Travis Air Force space. 24 were taken via ambulance. Today we learned 26 Cruise Ship Passengers were taken to hospitals in six different counties for medical needs unrelated to covid19. But not all of them required further hospital care and some of them were taken to motels and hotels in san carlos and monteray county. These are 100 secured, 100 segregated from the general public, secured. Not just security but secured from protocol perspective. These are perhaps some of the most safe sites in the community. Hundreds are still waiting to disembark. We spoke to a couple on the ship who say they are eager to get out my husband just started a brand new job. We already took two weeks of no pay because his job had closed and we got a new job before he left reporter they will be screened by health care workers. Only passengers who have symptoms or risk factors are getting the actual coronavirus test. This just in, word of another coronavirus death in just within the past 30 minutes. A person in their 90s has died. That person did have Underlying Health issues as well. Kpix5s devin fehely is in san jose with the changes at Senior Centers all across the bay area. Reporter the outbreak of coronavirus in the state of washington has been a case study on just how devastating and deadly this disease can be when it hits a Senior Community or a nursing home.
