It voted tonight to try to get to the bottom of all of this it wants to know what is causing the flairing to see how harmful it is to the community. Earlier this month this video of a flaring coming from the refinery by chevron. According to the bay area dict there is a rise in flaring since chevron started operating the new Hydrogen Plant last year. Today members of the communities for better environment asked the council to have chevron release the report to the public in a more timely manner. It is supposed to be for emergency situations. But that does not mean that chevron can create emergency situations. With these flaring incidents it is designed to disburse the poison thought the entire barrier. They are highly regulated and designed to relieve pressure during the processes and help keep our equipment and plants operating safely. It was a unanimous vote by the Richmond City council tonight.
