The state is now weighing the thorny issue of whether those prisoners should be allowed to transfer to other prisons and take lace and rehabilitation programs. It is not a get out of free jail card but the Inmate Transfer Program might be a taken off of death row for eligible inmates. Victims advocates are not happy. There are 700 of the most dangerous individuals in the state have been sentenced to that, they have nothing to lose. . The new Program Allows death row inmate at san quentin to request transfers to eight resins across the state where they can participate in work and rehabilitation programs. Whether or not they are coming back to society they should be treated humanely. Reporter in the naacp jeff moore opposes the Death Penalty and says chances for rehabilitation should not be denied, even to the worst offenders. Killing someone is not solving the problem necessarily but i think we need to do more to treat them humanely. Appointed prison in my opinion is to rehabilitate. So anything that facilitates that is great. And im sure that programs like this, when they are implemented, they will have extra corrections staff. And a reminder that they are becoming less and less important to the state.
