After admitting to the deadly attack on the airliner. Security forces fired tear gas at demonstrators. Unconfirmed reports say live bullets were fired at the crowd. In tehran protesters tore down protesters of general Qassem Soleimani killed by the u. S. Earlier this month. President trump tweeted yesterday to the leaders of iran, do not kill your protesters. Iran says the missile attack that downed the Ukrainian International airlines jet killing 176 people was a mistake. Elizabeth palmer is in london when iran forced her and other reporters were forced to leave the country. Why did they kick you out . Reporter when the iranian Government Asks foreign reporters to leave and its happened to me before and others they expect public unrest. Sure enough thats what they got. Just hours after irans military admitted shooting down the passenger plane, the protests began. Thousands, mostly young people joined angry crowds in the tehran. And the protests continued last night too. Social media video shohowed at least one woman shot in the leg. Tehrans police chief said he urged his officers to use restraint but witnesses say police were using live rounds, just not shooting to kill. It all started with a candlelight vigil. Quickly morphed into crowds chanting revolutionary guards are dictators. And the enemy is not america, it is within. One social media post shows students refusing to walk on large u. S. And israeli flags painted in the road. Many will have seen and shared President Trumps tweets in farsi calling on the iranian leadership not kill the protesters. On saturday in a stunning move a general said it was irans army that downed the plane mistaking it for a u. S. Cruise missile. But as pictures of the wreckage circulated, and International Investigators started their work disbelief turned to fury. Not only on the streets but everywhere iranians were asking if there really had been a threat of u. S. Strikes, why hadnt the military done the obvious thing and closed its air space to civilian planes . So far today our contacts in tehran say things are calm. But theres no doubt public anger is boiling. Government officials and the state media are trying to deflect some of the blame for the plane crash on to the United States for killing Qassem Soleimani and they say forcing iranian air defenses on to full alert. Liz palmer for us in london. Back in this country the Trump Administration is struggling to support the president s new explanation for the missile strike that killed irans commander. The president said on friday Qassem Soleimani was killed because of threats to attack four american embassies. His defense secretary told face the nation on sunday he saw no hard evidence of those threats. Weijia jiang is at the white house for us. Reporter cbs news learned President Trump authorized the killing of soleimani months ago, which raises questions about the timing of the attack, adds to confusion created by the defense secretary when he contradicted one of the mezs most specific claims about the nature of soleimanis threats. I didnt see one with regard to four embassies. Reporter defense secretary mark esper acknowledged sunday he saw no specific threat against four u. S. Embassies by Qassem Soleimani. Contradicting President Trump who earlier claimed thats why he authorized a strike that killed the iranian general. I can reveal that i believe it would have been four embassies. Reporter but esper insisted the lack of hard evidence did not mean the president s assumption was wrong. What im saying i share the president s view that probably my expectation they were going to go after our embassies. Reporter espers explanations mirrors how other Top Administration officials tried to explain how a threat can be imminent and vague at the same time. Those are completely consistent thoughts, but it was very clear. Qassem soleimani was plotting a broad large scale attack against american interests. Reporter the white house has long wish list for changes in iranian behavior including curbing Nuclear Weapons development. Stopping support for terror proxy groups. National security adviser Robert Obrien said the tough stance on iran is paying off and hinted it could force potential negotiations. Iran is being choked off. Iran will have no other choice but to come to the table. Reporter democrats say the discrepancies between President Trump and his inner circle add to their concerns that the hit on Qassem Soleimani was not justified. They are overstating and exaggerating what the intelligence shows. And when you talk about justifying acts that might bring us into warfare with iran thats dangerous. Reporter President Trump contradicted National Security adviser obrien by tweeting he couldnt care less if iran negotiated. The house approved a resolution to limit the president s action against iran, now the senate is considering a similar bill. Two republicans already said they would support it. All right, thank you very much reporting from washington. No one has claimed responsibility for the newest attack on an iraqi airbase north of baghdad yesterday that wounded four members of iraqs military. This followss irans missile strike last week on two bases that houses hundreds of u. S. Troops. This morning Holly Williams went to one of them, the al asad airbase to get a look at the damage. Reporter this is the scene of irans revenge attack against u. S. Troops. The iranians fired 16 Ballistic Missiles according to the u. S. The majority targeting this place al asad airbase where there are around 1500 u. S. Coalition troops. This is one of the buildings that was hit. It was sleeping quarters. U. S. Troops had minutes to take cover after being given warning that iranian missiles had been fired. Youll remember that there were no casualties. Youll also remember iranian strikes were retaliation, after President Trump ordered the assassination by drone strike of one of irans top generals, Qassem Soleimani, earlier this month. Now there is speculation that the iranians deliberately missed u. S. Troops in order to avoid a further escalation and violence with the u. S. However a senior u. S. Coalition military official told us that simply isnt true. That based on where the missiles landed the iranians were shooting to kill, in his words. For cbs this morning, im Holly Williams. This morning panic in parts of the philippines after the eruption of a volcano about 40 miles south of the capital city of manila. Half a Million People are in harms way there. More than 16,000 in the immediate area have already been evacuated. More eruptions could be imminent. Dramatic video shows Lightning Storm yesterday in the volcanic clouds, ash spewed in the air for miles. Howard johnson from partners at the bbbc are near the volcano where ash has blanketed nearby villages. Reporter the volcano has entered an eruption phase. Last night there was steam and ash, now theres lava flowing from the volcano. A weak flow at the moment, but thats causing black smoke to willow out of the volcano. If you look to my left, you can see ash all over the floors, turned into a mud state in some places. On the road on the way up here, saw people clearing mud from the road. We saw pineapple groves covered in dust. That will affect livelihoods in this area. The other major risk that the scientists are saying is that there could be a volcanic tsunami. If there is a major eruption that could cause the earth to move which would displace water. Move which would disclass water. Lowlying communities on the coastline could be affected by a tidal wave if theres a major eruption. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is slamming a new effort to dismiss impeachment charges against President Trump and republican plans to hold a senate trial without witnesses. Dismissing is a coverup. If they want to go that route, again there are senators thinking now about voting for witnesses or not. They will have to be accountable. Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell supports dismissal which the president is demanding. Nancy cordes is on capitol hill for us. Good morning. When will this trial if thats well it is possible that the trial could start later this week and more likely sometimes next week after Speaker Pelosi transmits the articles of impeachment from the house to the senate after a months long delay. She will be meeting with her fellow House Democrats tomorrow morning to discuss when she will announce for impeachment managers and hand over the articles to the senate and prosecute the case on behalf of the house. Yesterday pelosi defended her decision pulling up the article saying this delay drew the attention from the importance hearing from key witnesses like former National Advisor john bolton. Other witnesses have first hand knowledge of the administration pressure on ukraine. But, senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell is making no promise. Hes saying hes going to follow the 1999 play backseat during the clinton impeachment trial where senators began to hear Opening Statements and present employers before they decided whether to pursue more testimonies. Susan collins told the local newspapers that shes been meeting with a small group of Senate Republicans and they are determined to make sure witnesses do testify in this Upcoming Senate trial. Here are a few stories we think youll be talking about today. Haiti is still struggling to recover ten years after a catastrophic earthquake struck. Hundreds of survivors gathered yesterday at a wreath laying ceremony that took place at memorial site where many of the estimated 220,000 victims are buried. Who can forget these Haunting Images from 120. The earthquake destroyed large parts of the country. Soon after nations around the world pledged nearly 10 billion to help haiti but survivors say much of that goodwill has been lost to waste, greed and corruption. You cant forget. You were there. Some of the posts you put out yesterday are really stirring. I was there practically just out of my internship with cnn and anderson cooper. We were there less than 24 hours after the quake struck. We had no idea what we would find when we landed but ultimately came to see the scale of destruction where some 300,000, according to the haitian government, fellow human beings were killed. Thats one in ten in the quake zone. And there were so many bodies as you can see that memorial they had to put them outside of the city and a part of the city which means less than nothing where those bodies ended up. What a story for to you be there in your life and your career. To have that connection to that island. My family. It was tough to see. And theres a moment when we discovered those mass graves where we realized that any one of us could have been there either as a reporter, a visitor or myself could have earned up in one of those mass graves. We found american passports that ended up in those holes. All that money has not really gone. A lot of people dont have adequate shelter ten years later. The haitian government faced down the french government. They won their independence. They faced cholera after the earthquake. Frustrating about the money. People gave because they wanted it cleaned up. Now to an incredible story of survival. A man spent three weeks in subzero temperatures in a remote part of the alaskan wilderness and lived to talk about it. Check out this chopper footage from alaska state troopers. Unconfirmed reports say live ammunition was also fired. The video shows one woman being carried away. People around her said she was shot in the leg. President trump had tweeted just last night, dont kill your protesters. Thats a quote. The message was translated into farsi as well. Thats the primary language of iran. The army has released the names of two soldiers killed by a road side bomb in afghanistan over the weekend. As Queen Elizabeth presides over an emergency meeting today over prince harry and Meghan Markles future, opinions in britain are sharply divided, you could say. The royal couple say they plan to step back from their roles, while some support their declaration of independence others question it. In an oped in the daily mail royal biographer penny junor writes she fears prince harry appears to be on a, quote, trajectory of selfdestruction. She also writes he, quote, essentially is rejecting his birth right, his closest family, and a public role that he seemed to have embraced and even flourished in. Penny junor joins us from london with more on the story. Good to see you again. Good to see you. I want to start with your words where you said he appears to be on a trajectory of selfdestruction. Thats pretty strong. How can you say that and what exactly do you mean . Well, what i mean is ive written about harry. Ive spoke tone him. Ive followed him. Ive observed him over his whole life. When was the last time youve spoken to him . It was before he met meghan. Probably about three years ago. Its been a while. But the harry that i have known all those years is not the harry that im seeing today. The behavior is very uncharacteristic. Harry is, was a very cheerful, happy, happy man. Always laughing. Always joking. Always taking the mickey out of someone. That cheerful, charming man seems to have disappeared and in his place we have an angry, disgruntled, really seriously disgruntled man. Well, he admits, penny, that he is angry and frustrated by the treatment of his wife, who he loves and adores and his son and he is very concerned about her safety and her well being. Why wouldnt he be angry and frustrated about that . Gayle, the treatment that meghan has had at the hands of our press really is not as its not as devastating as i have seen over many handed out to many other celebrities. It is, you know, the press i mean, there have been comparisons with he has compared her treatment with the treatment that his mother received from the press. Truly, there is no comparison. When diana was being pursued by the press and they were feasting on her private life and digging everywhere the british media absolutely lost its moral compass. But after her death a new code of conduct was drawn up for the british newspapers and the press has abided by and large by those rules since then. They are way, way more restrained than they were. But, of course, its always hurtful. I mean, you will know. Youre in the public eye. Ism in the public eye. When somebody doesnt like you, they say so with no holds barred or the press will criticize you. And its hurtful. I think meghan is a sensitive girl. She is a lovely girl. The british love her. This is what is so frustrating. Harry and she seem to be believing that we dont love them. We do love them. They are fantastic. They arrived there were golden couple, sprinkling fairy dust everywhere. But they were in danger of out shining william and kate. But, penny, you also write that harry has long struggled with what it means to be a royal. And that he, himself, has spoken openly about being close to a complete breakdown at points. So why does this seem so out of character to you . Before he was married to meghan he talked about that. Yes. Harry, certainly, throughout his childhood and his youth struggled with being a royal. He wanted to be plain harry wales. But he then went into the army and he fought in afghanistan. He changed he was a changed character. This troubled boy, troubled young man who was drinking too much and not taking care of himself, he with the army, the discovery that he was so brilliant at flying apache helicopters, he became a different character, and he understood with the invictus games, which he stole from america, the idea, he discovered that he was able to put together a show like that within a year, the space of a year. He could do that because he was hrh, prince harry. Harry wales could never, ever have done that, however brilliant idea. Penny, i want to circle back to the treatment of meghan by the tabloids there in the uk. In your oped you say racism has not been a factor. You dont see it as a factor. We just took a quick search this morning and found numerous examples of questionable phrasing, headlines referring to her as straight out of compton, a reference to a rap lyric. She has exotic dna another piece said. Another described her mother as a dread locked africanamerican lady from the wrong side of the tracks. And then of course there is the infamous lets not forget the picture. There was a bbc reporter fired for tweeting an image of the royal baby as a chimp. That is a quick list we put together this morning. How can you say race is not a factor here . I dont believe race is a factor. Im sorry. I really dont. How . Of course there are some idiots around. And there are some racists around. You know, we all know that. But look at the reception meghan had when she arrived here. We took her to our hearts. The british were thrilled about her marrying into the royal family. And they were thrilled because she was mixed race. That was one real plus. Have you not heard that did you check in with any black britons before you made that determination . I hear what youre saying and i know that there are some people, you know, there are many people in this country who are black, who are of color, who feel they are in a racist society. Equally, there are other people who are also of color who do not feel theyre in a racist society. It depends upon your personal experience. Penny, i dont think you have to have personal experience to have your baby portrayed as a chimp and it says royal couple leaving the hospital. That is very hurtful and that is in fact very racist. Of course it is. Yes. Im not denying that. Sorry. Im not trying to defend things like that. Im absolutely not. Okay. What im saying is that i think that the over reaching sentiment of the British Public was to be enthusiastic about meghan and welcome her. She came into the royal family and because she was of color it made a whole lot of colored people in our country suddenly find the monarchy was relevant to them. It certainly seems to have taken a turn. It will be interesting to see how the big meeting turns out today. We are all very hopeful it is a winwin for everybody. I really hope we dont lose them. Good monday morning. We are starting up the day with partly cloudy skies and patchy fog. Through the afternoon, mostly cloudy skies and light scattered showers for this evening. A storm moved and wednesday night into thursday. 55, san francisco. 56, oakland. Scattered showers for this evening. Is a storm on wednesday night into thursday. Flu is now widespread in almost every state and nearly 10 Million People have become ill so far. 4800 of those people have died. Pediatric deaths are double what they were this time last year. So 32 children have died so far from the flu this year. Why is it up so much . It was interesting. This year, you know, the word we use about the flu is unpredictable. Weve seen a shift in the predominant strain, which is usually influenza a and this year it is influenza b. That hasnt happened since the 19921993 flu season. We know influenza b tends to affect children more. They tend to have more severe reactions to influenza b. What are the more serious complications . Certainly pneumonia is one of the most serious and most frequent complications. They can also get encephalitis which is swelling of the brain. They can also develop sign usitis or ear infections and there can be things like seizures or inflammation of the heart muscle. A story about a little girl going blind. Thats right. You have an incident in your own house. She had the flu shot. My daughter had the flu shot. She is 7. She got the flu while we were away on christmas break. As she was recovering we thought she was Getting Better and she came into my room at night and said i cant walk and she was crawling to the bathroom. We discovered that in fact inflammation of the muscles of the legs can happen in children. You and your husband are doctors. We are and it was so scary. This is why it is so important to remind parents this doesnt have to just be a fever and some respiratory symptoms. This can progress. This can be deadly. What should parents be looking for . Certainly you want to look for the signs of the flu. So fever, abrupt onset, cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, headache, muscle aches. But also in children they can have things like stomach pains or nausea and vomiting or diarrhea, abdominal symptoms. You want to recognize when things might be getting worse. If the kid complains of muscle aches or pains, if they look like their lips or skin are turning blue. Theyre having respiratory difficulties. Their fever is very high. Or their mental state or alertness really changes, you need to seek care and call your doctor. As you pointed out this thing can look like its going away and then can suddenly roar back. Exactly. Even when they have the flu shot. Thanks. Ahead how Serena Williams got her groove back. Thats coming up on cbs this morning. Serena williams is winning again. Welcome back to cbs this morning. Welcome back to cbs this morning. Its time to bring you some of the stories we call talk of the table. I heard my own the weekend. I said i cant wait for monday. I think i know. Yeah, you knew exactly what i was going to pick. We pick a story we like and we want to share. Anthony, you are up first. Back to venice. Those pictures of flooding in venice. Two months after historic flooding in the city, the citys canals almost ran dry. They were low tides over the weekend. Gondolas were beached at the bottom of canals. In recent weeks tourism has apparently plunged by some stimts up to 40 . Hotel bookings dropping because of the flooding in november. The experts blame the worsening floods on climate change. One expert told 60 minutes these problems will soon be seen around the world. By 2050, which is only 30 years into the future, many places around the world, including in the u. S. , are going to experience the historical once in 100year flood level once a year or more frequently. Normally, venice has high tides at this time as well. So there is no apparent explanation for why suddenly the gondolas are at the bottom of the canal. You have to stick with the science here, things are not looking good. The tides will be higher. This is an outliar. What you got . I dont know a lot about golf. If you have a caddy who knows a thing or two, that could be helpful. A little boy playing over the weekend has a heck of a caddy. His name is tigers. He played in the Farmers Insurance open next week. His son attracted attention on the green over the weekend. There is some footage that came out showing Charlie Woods and his incredible golf swing. Charlie woods is tigers son. Look at that form. The nine hole junior event in south florida. Charlie turns 11 next month. Thats tigers, his dad, caddying for his son. He did not win the event despite the golf dna. Just starting, yeah. Plenty of people on social media were impressed and say the apple does not fall far from the tree. Pretty impressive. A lot to live up to. If you are going to play golf, you cant have a better teacher than tiger. He i dad, too. Hand me the 3 iron . No, son. Here is the 7. Its no secret that i love a popeyes chicken sandwich. The craze is blamed on a hilarious mistake on a game show. This contestant gives a wrong answer on family feud in canada. Whoevguesses this wins the g. Name popeyes favorite food. Chicken oh, my god. Show me chicken [ buzzer ] spinach. Spinach okay. Could you guys just cue that up again . I want you to look at the little dance that eve does. Her name is eve. Its become an internet sensation. Im thinking next time you go to eves house you can imagine what she is going to be serving. The fast food chain loved it. They said our survey says you got right. Look at that. Its the way she goes, chicken she is so sure that she is so right in her response. The other guy, of you popeye now going to give her 10,000 worth of popeyes chicken. I think they should give her a 10,000 check. She lost 10,000 with that answer. Nobody wants 10,000 its good, but nobody wants 10,000 worth of chicken. You explain that on popeyes chicken. Stop talking. Thats a secret between us. I think she should get a 10,000 check. The spinach industry should give her 10,000 worth of spinach. Every year more than 20,000 teenagers age out of the foster care system and within just four years about 5,000 of them are homeless. Now the federal government is stepping in to help. In an interview youll see only on cbs this morning secretary of housing and urban Development Ben carson spoke with our National CorrespondentJericka Duncan about the innovative solution. Good morning. What did you learn . Good morning. We learned that it pays to advocate for yourself. You will know what im talking about in a second. In all things, thats right, gayle. Secretary carson has made it his mission to move more americans out of the Public Housing. After a group of former foster kids came to see him, he said he realized the best move starts with being able to have a place t to call home. The biggest thing this has given me is a sense of control over my life. Reporter control that was once a dream for denver area teen heidi seabrook. Going from drugs to foster home to group homes, halfway houses, psych wards and jail. Reporter now the 18yearold has the keys to a different future and this. Her first own apartment through a new federal Housing Initiative called foster youth to independence. I feel like this is the first time in my life that i have the peace and the room to kind of poer give myself, to grow a little bit. Reporter it puts rent within reach and teaches job prep and life skills to former foster children ages 18 to 24. The solution took a brain surgeon, ben carson, who heads the federal agency overseeing Public Housing. In some ways this place s more people in Public Housing. Some people think negatively about Public Housing. But Public Housing is actually supposed to be a safety net. Reporter the idea to expand that safety net came from former foster kids themselves. They actually took the initiative to come here and we talked to them. We listened to their stories. That inspired the creation of a program. Reporter was that something that was on your radar before . You know, this really laser focused us on it. You know, people say it takes the government a long time to do anything. But within four months the program was created. Reporter and its working. Participants typically pay 30 of their income towards rent. The fyi Program Covers the rest. So far, more than 2 million has gone to help out nearly 250 former forrest former foster children. When they dont have that kind of support they fall into all kinds of things. You know, drugs, sex trade. Reporter back in colorado, seabrook now sees a new future. Who would think that i would go to college . Not just like a drug addict, some kid in the system. I can really be like who i want. Reporter and have what every foster child really wants. A place they can call home. Everything that is in my life i feel like i allowed it to be in my life and everything in high house i allow to be in my house. Its given me a sense of peace that this is a safe place for me. Hidely set her sights on college. She wants to become a social worker to help atrisk teens like herself. While the fyi program just started, secretary carson said its a big enough success that he is adding 500,000 nor hemor. So, obviously, 250 right now with this original program, but you have got 20,000. So this is helping, but obviously its a bigger problem when you look at the big picture. Happy for heidi. She has been through so much. Good to see that story have a happy ending. Rent within reach. Yes. All right. I love the interview with ben cars carson where he went, okay. I dont know if it was a delivery, the facial expression. Im like, okay. We thank him. We do. For helping out. We know he doesnt talk very often. Its an Important Program and its making a difference. Thank you, mr. Carson. First on cbs this morning, an announcement in the effort to struck we are tracking a series of weather systems for the week. The twoyear position aims to raise the nations appreciation of youth literature as it relates to literacy, education and the development and betterment of lives. We are very excited to announce our nations Newest National ambassador for young people of literature, drum roll, please, its, there he is good drum roll. Jason reynolds. Yay congratulations. Do your victory lap. He is a bestselling and awardwinning author and poet, work includes patina, long way down. He writes for young adult audiences. Reynolds was named by the library of congress by carla hayden. Excellent taste. What does this position mean to you and what coudo you intend to with it . Its means an awful lot. Its a tremendous responsibility. For me to be the ambassador of anything is to proliferate the ideas of said thing that you are championing. But i also think because im dealing with young people and young peoples literature, im choosing to focus more so on rural and small town america because i cant claim to love children if i only love some of them. I find that sometimes we overlook the kids in iowa, the kids in nebraska and small town alabama an upstate new york, right . And so my job is to make sure that i go there, interact with them. Allow us to have human moments because i believe that a narrative is currency. We cant just focus on external narrative. We have to focus on internal narrative as well. You sit here as someone who didnt read a whole book until you were 17. Now you are an ambassador for reading. Absolutely. I would have read more if i would have had this interaction. Not just the books at the time, but if anybody would have come to see me and let me know they are the ones behind these words and i could buy into them. Why did you pick him . You just heard it. What better ambassador . Someone who didnt have the books that he needed to get him excited about reading, who can interact with any type he is a rock star in young adult literature. Young people of all ages and types and sizes and colors stand in line for two hours. I have seen it. To interact with him. And so an ambassador, the library of congress, the Largest Library in the world, we are promoting literacy and reading, to have jason go and be that ambassador is just wonderful. So the department of education, which tracks reading scores, came out with numbers recently that werent very good. They were going in the wrong direction. For eighth graders, nourt and eighth graders, what do you make of that . Jason makes a good point that i think its tricky. I think its tricky. One, im not one to necessarily negate the statistics. What i will say is that statistics dont tell whole truths. You are seeing encouraging things . I am on the ground every day, right . All over this country. And what im seeing is tons of people, young people becoming more and more excited. The translation of that excitement to the test scores is an interesting thing. Are there more young people reading is what im saying. Even if they are not reading books, they are on social media or something, they think you are an interesting personality. They find out you are an author. There is that element. Also, there is currency in cool and narrative. A lot of young people want to do the cool thing. A lot of kids believe, depending on the book, reading is cool. We saw it with harry potter, the hate you give. We see this happen, right . So i believe its about making sure that we are giving them the thing they want and need and showing up to make it real. What did reading do for you . A few things. Number one, it showed me who i was. It helped me navigate the world i lived in. Navigate my internal space and who i was a person. More than all those things it gave me soft skills that i used to manage my life. In order to read anything, you have to have discipline, patience, concentration, listening skills to listen to yourself and sint size that information. Those are the same skills to manage a job, a relationship, and do well in school. Its bigger than just narrative. Its also the external macro stuff. Carla, what do we do to get more kids reading . Other than put jason out there . He is one person. Also, we have to provide the books that they might want to read and not be judgmental. I brought a copy of the book from 1946. Bright april. When i was a little girl this, in jamaica queens, Little Branch library, this was the only book that had someone that looked like me in it. I loved to read. Books should be wind events on the world but they should be mirrors. Sometimes we want young people to read the great novels and things and not a graphic novel. If you see them and you poopoo it and things like that, no. Reading, its like a muscle. Anything they make a connection to . Its like a muscle. You get practice. So you are reading comic books. And we have the Worlds Largest collection of comic books. In the library of congress . Yes. Not leaneding library . No, no. But thats what were really hoping that jason can jason, when did you make your first connection to reading . What was it, do you remember . To reading . What lit you up . 17 1 2 years old, richard writes black boy. It wasnt a 50page exposition. Page two, in the midst of the drama. Page two. I think its interesting that we expect young people to want to pthey live in twominute worlds where things are happening rapidly. So my job as a writer is to write something that has a hook in the beginning. By the way, adults also dont like to read 50page expositions. No, they dont. It was the hook. Once i got to the hook and got through a book, it was an obsession with completion. Then my ball started to roll. And its still rolling. It is. And roll on. Congratulations. Thank you. Very exciting. Best ambassador we could have. Carla hayden and jason reynolds, thank you very much. Good luck in nebraska, small town alabama, upstate new york. Absolutely.
