And with the time now being 15 minutes after 6 00 showers still around the bay area and destined to be here through about midnight tonight, but then it looks like things are going to clear out and how for monday. Well look completely different tomorrow, but for the moment still some rain coming down pretty good around santa rosa and 101 to petaluma and then on the 101 right over novato and down to san rafael, so widely scattered showers around the north bay. Out in the east bay not so much. Airports are reporting light rain with cloudy skies at livermore and hayward and in the south bay most of the action has moved over Mount Hamilton and out into the great valley. As we look toward it the bay bridge now, the numbers have tumbled to the upper 40s and low 50s, didnt squeeze a lot of rain out of this, about 0. 2 inch to half inch, upper elevations getting a little more but a typical december soaker for the bay area. It was windy for a bit. Theyre now calming down, Higher Elevations getting stronger winds, but in general between 5 and 25 miles an hour around the bay area. Heres whats happening. Lows are going to head south. The sun will come out for monday after some dense form fogs around sunrise tonight around sunrise tomorrow. See, the sun rises in the morning, not at night. Low pressure will head south and it will clear out. Futurecast shows showers around the bay area through about midnight, but look at that. Goes severely clear by 9 00 or 10 00 in the morning, but thats after patchy fog forms after midnight tonight. Still should be nice. So well start the day with some patchy, dense fog, sunup monday at 7 25 in the morning. The numbers begin in the low to mid40s and by arch afternoon well be in the mid50s and sunnyside up for monday, not bad new years eve, a few clouds, partly cloudy skies as we approach 2020. Can you believe that . Wow. Upper 40s and low 50s and to sum it all up, showers will diminish after midnight tonight. Dense fog will form tomorrow morning and dissipate by midday and looks like its dry through the week. Youd think with all the rain weve had lately wed be well above average with santa rosa at almost 13 inches of rain. Thats got to put them above average. Oh, no, it doesnt. Santa rosa is about the most average we have at 98 , but the rest, San Francisco, oakland, san jose are actually below average rainfall for this time of year and in some cases like in oakland significantly behind. So weve been getting rain, just not that much. Mostly sunny for sfo tomorrow, high of 58, but you will find rain in new york and 45 degrees. Overnight lows tonight, the numbers will be down to about 38 in santa rosa, 41 napa, 42 at fairfield, livermore 39 tonight. So it will be chilly and the cold temperatures and clearing skies mean fog will form, but we cover and mid to upper 50s for much of the bay area, santa rosa notching 60 and 57 for fairfield and the same for San Francisco. In the look ahead after the showers dissipate tonight, well look at sunshine for tomorrow and for new years eve clouds begin to move in late on tuesday and that leaves us with mostly cloudy skies for wednesday and thursday, doesnt look like much in the way of rain by the time we head into next weekend, back where we started with mid50s and sunny skies, so not too bad. Derek carr, stretched the field, but the ball ripped out by dre marshall, bronco football in raiders territory. And denver cashed in. Check this out. Quarterback drew lock one yard touchdown pass to andrew beck, his first career touchdown and the broncos led 103 at the half, frustrating. Now mathematically eliminated from the playoffs final minute, 169, carr, d. , caught, renfrow, a leaping grab got to the denver six. Two plays later carr, renfrow again touchdown. Raiders within one. Its 1615. They went for the kill shot, went for the win. Carrs pass with the twopoint try knocked down and the broncos hung on to win 1615. Oakland finished the era, finished the season at 79. Yeah. Its trending the right way and were excited about that, which is good for the organization, but at the same time its not good enough, you know. So were kind of stuck in that weird place, but we just keep plugging. I will say that i am very proud of our team for being very resilient. You know, we did some things that lets just be ream, no one thought we were going to do. Why is that significant . Ryan tannehill has briefed enough life into the tennessee titans. So here is the afc playoff bracket. Next weekend the titans will be at the new England Patriots and the texans will host the buffalo bills. Baltimore ravens and the Kansas City Chiefs have first round byes. 49ers and the seahawks, winner takes the nfc west, moving pictures on the Gameday Sports show after the late newscast. Meantime what a way for a panthers and stanford man Christian Mccaffery to end his season, hosting the saints and they went marching into charlotte, drew brees to hill, a backup quarterback. This one gave mccaffery 1,000 yards receiving for the season. E became the third player in League History to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. Saints won it 4210. We got carson wentz and the eagles. When . They win the nfc east. Game 33, Second Quarter, wentz rolled out, threw across the field, found josh perkins, touchdown. Fourth quarter eagles were up three. Boston scott took the handoff and walked in. Eagles nfc east champs. They won it 3417. Segway to basketball. We got the stanford men, not the best offensive showing hosting fifth ranked kansas. Second half jayhawks in attack mode. Isaiah moss a three ball. Kansas up 12. Let me tell you something. They love to shoot long range. This time christian broad put them up 18. Stanford didnt get its first field goal until eight minutes left in the first half. Lost the second game of the season 7256. We have cal mens coach mark fox frustrated all day as they hosted harvard. I got a nephew at harvard, but he cant go coast to coast like noah kirkwood. Uncontested to the rack. That will drive a coach crazy. Second half harvard up 12, the old wide range jumper. Cal lost this one 7163 and the bears record has fallen to 6 7. Let me just backtrack, double pump and reload on this one. The seahawks fans are well, the packer fans are rooting for the seahawks because if seattle wins, then the packers would be the top nfc team and everything would go through green bay. Thats why they want seattle to beat the 9ers. Well, tough for them. Thats what i say. Glad we agree. Thanks, vern. Well basically go to showery activity. Heres how it looks now in the north bay, still coming down good as that low unwinds. Over santa rosa, down through petaluma and over point reyes pretty good rain. The low that produced the rain today will power south and head out of the bay area. Showers will end after midnight, a little windy and then tomorrow totally different. High pressure builds in, more sunshine on monday, but thats after commuters will deal with some dense fog as per usual when things clear and theres been a lot of moisture around. So whats next . You can see the low spinning off the coast, but tomorrow as it spins south sunny skies replace all this. Futurecast tells us the timing on this. A few showers hang around till midnight but then just blow offshore and the easterly flow and monday looks severely clear. So a nice day on monday after the fog.
