Christmas eve, 10 00, a few showers perhaps, but the real main event arrives after midnight. Thats 1 00 a. M. Thats an organized line of moderate rain. Its going to get everybody. Pretty much all at the same time in the predawn hours of christmas. By 7 00 a. M. , most of it has moved off to the east. Just not all of it. We keep a chance of showers through the late morning and even perhaps to about 11 00, noon, maybe a spotty shower or two. But the bulk of the rain is coming in the dark hours of predawn. We get about a half inch of rain if you average it out across the bay area. So thats good rain. The other item to talk about here is the possibility of snow down to about 3500 feet. That means the mountains down here in the south bay, specifically Mount Hamilton which sits up above 4,000 feet and you can drive up to it if you have 4 wheel drive and chain, a little less than an inch of snow, so thats a White Christmas scenario. But that snow wont start falling until about 2 00, 3 00 in the morning Christmas Day and should be done by 10 00 to 11 00 in the morning.
