Da, i hesitate to ask because i can see the emotion welling up, but whats the emotion like . Reporter it feels like a funeral out here, especially for those that grew up in the east bay. The emotions are raw. Across the street from the coliseum theres a large print out sign that says bleep las vegas. The overcast sky reflects the mood of many raiders fans. Its a very sad day. You know, the raiders are gone, and good luck and good bye. Reporter this is the second time this has happened to our community. Its absolutely a crime. Reporter unlike the fans from other parts of the country, those that live in oakland say they side with the city because the raider lost their trust. Im more of an oakland fan. Im signing up for cal season tickets. Go bears. Theyre not that good, but theyll never move. Reporter taxpayers are still paying back millions of dollars for that coliseum renovation upgrade they took out, the loan they took out the bring the raiders back from la back in the 90s. So as my friend said about comparing it to his first marriage that lasted only a year. He said it lasted only a year but took 10 years to pay off the loan he took out for that wedding. On a personal note, it took about a year for me to mentally prepare for this day, so i think im readily. Live in oakland, da lin, kpix 5. Oh, man. You know what i say . Silver and black, i got your back. Go to las vegas, im right there with you. No problem. Reporter cant do it. Cant do it. Da, thanks. A Home Invasion suspect was perched on the roof of a 5 story hotel. He was throwing Construction Materials and tools down to the ground. Kpix 5s andria borba is joining us now live from the scene on warm springs boulevard. How did this thing end . Reporter well, ken, it ended peacefully. The suspect in this case voluntarily surrendered to crisis negotiators here in fremont, came down off the roof, and is in custody tonight. This all wrapped up just in the past 30 minutes. It began hours earlier when a Home Invasion call came into dispatchers from a gated apartment complex about a mile away. She was a victim of a subject coming into her home and hitting her and taking items. Reporter the suspect then ran to this construction site. The roof was just finished yesterday. Contractors believe the suspect made it up through a permanent access to the roof. You can see him here from chopper 5, trashing the fresh roof and then throwing things from the building and trying to light it on fire. Hes playing hide and seek, hide and seek. Officers have been talking to him with a megaphone and everything. Reporter the stand off unleashed grid lock on this part of fremont with warm springs closed and traffic getting dumped onto already busy mission boulevard. Apples spaceship campus has often been a headache for neighbors, and now some are upset because they didnt get a coveted invitation to an open house this weekend. Devin fehely explains. Reporter some neighbors felt like they had gotten a proverbial golden ticket, an opportunity to tour apples innovative spaceship campus. But for others it was confusion and frustration over being left off the guest list. For apple it was meant as an olive branch. A close up look at the campus thats inspired awe, curiosity, and occasional irritation among those that live nearby. Im absolutely excited. Ive followed the construction and very interested to see what it looks like inside. Reporter a spokesperson for apple say it is company invited some of its closest neighbors to the invitation only event, but much like the debut of a new phone, there was a lot more interest than actual invitations, and thats caused some hurt feelings. It looks really cool. Um the building looks really modern from the street view, so yeah, id definitely be interested in a tour. Reporter this man lives less than a mile from the campus, but wasnt invited, and said that at its core is unfair. Its a little frustrating because if you think about it, just by apple being there and that campus being there, the overall housing cost has increased a lot, rent has increased, and that impacts everyone in the community. Reporter apple wouldnt say exactly how many people were invited or how they determined who made the list or who didnt, but many neighbors who werent invited said theyd like to go, especially during the inconvenience of instruction and the traffic the new campus has caused. Getting offended for not being invited, thats not my case, no. Reporter we reached out to apple asking if theyd have future tour opportunities for those left off the guest list this time. This is what conditions looked like in santa cruz this afternoon, and it was a similar scene north in marin county. Thats where we find kpix 5s Wilson Walker tonight. Reporter talk about days where you should not turn your back to the water. This absolutely one of those days here at point reyes. Yes, its terrifying when you think about the size. Reporter in a place where theres almost always something incredible to look at no matter which direction you happen to be looking, the wildlife might have actually taken a backseat to the show on the coast today. Yeah, well, we were thinking, what 20 feet . Something like that. Reporter those who took to the beach quickly found themselves scrambling to get away from it. It was the kind of spectacle that raises the question. Do people actually surf in this . Not really. This is the only, really, um protected place around here where you can surf unless youre a marvel superhero with a swell like this. Reporter to the south, the sheltered waters were just about the only way to make it a manageable surf day. The waves were shoulder high, and nice and clean faces. Racy, where normally its quite a bit smaller here. Reporter this is, after all, the time of year for swells of rain and the good things that come with it. For surfers in northern california, this is it. Reporter Wilson Walker, kpix 5. All right, check in with darren peck right now and see how your weekend is shaping up. Kind of want to pick up on that story with all the surf weve been showing you. Its not necessarily these weak waves of rain that happen to be coming on shore at the same time that are behind all this. The increase in surf is coming from a storm in the gulf of alaska. Look at the satellite imagery, and youll see a bright band of orange and yellow building out there. Ill spotlight it with the storm sitting right up here. The deeper the purple, the higher the swells. And the energy has been coming out to california from up there. Thats why we still have the High Surf Advisory in effect until 3 00 tomorrow morning. It goes up to the north and down towards monterey, and theres still an area of concern. As far as the light rain, weve just now seen the end of a well organized band of showers that has marched across the entire bay area over the last 3 hours. I have been spotlighting the left overs in the south bay, but even that is starting to end. Maybe a few light showers at best. But things have really quieted down. So lets switch over to the futurecast and play it forward into tonight where well see some more light bands of rain in the overnight hours. Then once we get past midnight, those turn off. For the first half of saturday, youll probably seen see breaks of blue sky out there. But into the second half of saturday, the last little wave of energy in the atmosphere with the rain is going to come through. Look at the time frame there. That gets us into the late afternoon. That tries to work across part of bay area. Some could come in the form of isolated heavier showers. Wouldnt be the light sprinkle ors the drizzle. This would be more blue sky mixed in with the development of somewhat more impressive isolated cells of rain that come through for the second half of the day on saturday, and thats about it. Most places wont get anything. But if you happen to get one, it will be an impressive show for a brief period, and that could happen anywhere. Thats the way those kind of play out. Theres the rainfall totals. We look at the rain as a whole for the north bay. We pick up about a 10th of an inch out of this. Similar totals for the south bay. As far as that next storm, look at the sevenday forecast and get to wednesday. Thats where we start to see our next chance of rain showing up. And its a pretty well organized storm that gets here for wednesday. And the good news is, its holding off until then. That means sunday you will see plenty of blue sky. Monday and tuesday no rain, although the clouds increase. And i know it looks busy from wednesday, thursday, and friday, but right now wednesday is the target for the more impressive rain thursday and friday, we just have to keep a chance of rain there. Well see how it plays out as that gets closer. And munis new trains may be adding an improvement that already existed in the older versions, seat dents. The new train seats have no seat or butt dents. The groove in the seat to keep the rider from sliding. As a result when muni comes to a jolting stop, passengers on the slick seats slide and sometimes collide with other riders. Well now the director of transit said potential modifications may come to the second phase of the new train.
