We switch from that view, and i get you into the heart of downtown san jose. This is where were going to experience some of the more noticeable rain over about the next 30 minutes. Im going to switch from that live look over downtown. You can tell its kind of misty here. But high def doppler, theres the last 3 hours. You can see theres a well organized band that just marched across the whole bay area from northwest to the southeast. Lets stop it on the last frame. And now lets come in for a close up look on the action. Look at all the yellow spots that are popping out here down in the south bay. In fact lets get right down into san jose. Right in along 82, 101, right where 280 intersects. Lets work right up into the heart of downtown. Near the intersection of 280 and 101. Theres 680. Good band of rain. And orange is more than the light misting drizzle that weve experienced over the last several days it seems like. Doesnt seem like, has been. That actually is moderate rain. Thats where the windshield wipers will be going the most. And keep in mind, that rain is going to move to the southeast. Its not going to stay like that much longer. In fact lets switch it from high def doppler, put it into the futurecast, and well pick up on bands that continue to move in from the northwest over the remainder of tonight. None will be as impressive as what were seeing right now. Spotty hit and miss showers overnight tonight into tomorrow. And then when we get to the second half of saturday, well have a second little impulse of rain. Late morning were in the clear, but afternoon and evening, see the blobs with yellow in them . Going to be real isolated, but we have potential of rain into the second half of saturday. And when you add this all up, i sound like a broken record here. Its not a lot of rain. Less than a tenth of an inch for tonight through tomorrow. But watch what happens. Ive only added all the accumulations from now through saturday morning. Im going to hit play. We go through saturday late morning, nothing has happened, and then 3 00 in the afternoon, its subtle. But you see the totals bump up and see the green. That fits in line with this idea that second half of tomorrow, we see a second wave of showers come through and we get a little more rain out of it. And then were done. And its not going over well. Getting killed on social media. People dont like change. No. If youre the old guard youre like ehh, but if youre young youre like lets see how it goes. Weve seen it in tight games. Manager brings in the specialist pitcher to get one batter, and then brings in another reliever. Starting with the big league games in 2020, not happening. Major League Baseball plans to institute a rule that requires a pitcher to face a minimum of 3 hitters during an appearance. The point of the rule is to reduce the number of pitching changes and improve the pace of play. Some managers arent going to be happy saying the rule impacts the strategy of the game, eliminating specialty pitchers who would come in to face only one batter. Bruce bochi was known for using that move during san franciscos 3 world series runs earlier this decade. Now im not one of those old get off my lawn dudes, but i do enjoy the drama of the specialist that comes in to pace one guy, especially when it backfires. Then its like okay, all right. You hit on it right away in the beginning. This is a game thats been going on for over a hundred years, so these changes mean a lot to the purists. But they recognize the young demographic who after a couple of innings theyre like let me look at my cell phone. Theyre not watching the game. Maria is still processing, shes a huge baseball fan. Thats right. Plenty of reaction on social media like vern said. Greg said someone needs to start a petition against the 3 batter minimum. What a terrible rule change. Let managers utilize their bull pens how they choose. Evan says the mlb should be careful trying to pander to a young audience, they could lose their current one. And mr. White says 3 batter minimum . This is a sick joke, right . Im disgusted this rule wouldnt be laughed out of board room if had a heartbeat.
