We really have seen everything in the past 24 hours. Yes, we have. Including some incredibly pretty views in the sky. This is the Vantage Point that set out on sutr reisea lathe ci not only at the embarcadero towers lit up but look at the clouds building behind the city. We are used to seeing a marine layer high clouds come in. You dont often get the kind of cumulus puffy looking cotton balls that build in our sky. We get them but not as often as so many other parts of the country. They are kind of fun to watch if you like looking at the sky. Those are also the kinds of clouds that can get you thunderstorms with small hail, and, if they can get into the mountains a little bit of snow which is happening right now. If we look at High Definition doppler on the big picture you see the sweeps going around. For most of us nothing is happening right now but a pretty show in the sky with the clouds. But, for some of us, there is some action, a couple of places to zoom in on like the isolated cell thats been sitting on top of mount diablo theres a light snow falling down to about 2500 feet but you can see that the entrance into heavier showers on the downhill side of the mountain. There are other cells like that down in the south bay. We can come in for a closeup, working the way over to the east side of the valley. That is not necessarily an impressive downpour but, there will be decent rain and this and that is working its way from Mountain View right over towards sunnydale. You can see the grade in the streets. If you look at that a different way and put a forecast track. In the last about 20 minutes and then you get out of here. Deceit is more like that coming, we just go back out for the white of you. Take a look out on High Definition doppler. Plenty of showers out here, most have really bad aim. But, some of them will be able to get over. When that happens you will see the rain pick up. The other thing to talk about, in addition to the scattered showers which will peter out overnight, is how cold it is about to get. Start out by looking at the current numbers its 45 degrees right now in concord, 44 in santa rosa. That is where we are starting for the evening but those numbers will all go way down. As we look at the overnight lows, concord going down to 37. Santa rosa 30. There was a pattern on here that further inland you are the colder you are going to get. The closer you are to the bay, the warmer you will stay. Oakland going down the 40 but we will bottom out at 30 in santa rosa and theyll just get more dramatic over the next tonight. Look at friday and saturday. Going down to 28 for friday morning. We will be at 30 degrees on saturday morning and then we will warm back up by the time we get monday to the average. San jose is another spot that will get cold, you wont get as cold as the north bay valley as well. But you will still dip down to just above freezing on friday morning done the 34. And then warm back up. If we do this for oakland, not as big a difference here right . Itll be cold but not as dramatic a drop. Concord, further inland, further away from the bay you will get cold as well. The morning low standout, the daytime highs . Those are pretty unremarkable low to mid 50s. They are chilly and are staying below average for most of the seven day forecast. The real item to watch is the next storm. And, that is going to get here second half of saturday and last through tuesday. More details on this one, it is a different kind of storm than the one we just got. This one will have better rain potential. Itll be driven by a weak Atmospheric River which means relatively warmer. More on the storm as we get closer, plan on rain saturday night through tuesday.
