Betty yu reports investigators have more questions than answers. Reporter tonight, the Union City Police department suspect or suspects. And, a motive. This double homicide is a rare crime for the city. Tonight, candles lit up the parking lot that hours ago was a crime scene. Police say at about 1 30 in the morning, an 11 and 14yearold boy were sitting in a van when they were confronted by at least one shooter who opened fire. The older victim died on the scene. The younger died while being rushed to the hospital. All of a sudden, we heard this pop, pop, pop. It kept going. It was like, like machine gun. It was just constant. Reporter gigi ericson woke up to the sound of gunfire. I dont know why an 11 or 14 yearold boy would be out at this time of the morning. Im so heartbroken that these kids is had to go through that. Nmed by foot r. Ce dont know it is if the shooting was random or targeted. We dont know at this point if they were there too meet somebody. Reporter tonight, friends and family of the victims who came to pay their respects at the makeshift memorial did not want to speak to the media. Many neighbors are stunned by the violence. I was surprised this morning when they said it was right in front of my driveway. Reporter another neighbor did not want to show his face on camera. What is your sense of safety in this neighborhood . Nothing going wrong over here. Everything is peaceful. Reporter police are looking into a double shooting seven blocks away may have any connection to this crime. Two men in their 40s were shot and survived their injuries. Police are looking for any Surveillance Video that may help them crack this case. In union city, betty yu, kpix5. A fire in Contra Costa County has left one person dead tonight. It happened in the gated Senior Community of ross moore. The two alarm blaze broke out at 6 20 00 p. M. Three other families displaced. No word on the source of the fire and investigators are still on scene. The victims name will not be released until next of kin is notified. A clear day and night across the bay area. In fact, here is a live look at the bay bridge where caltrans has just closed three lanes in both directions. Now, it is part of a scheduled maintenance. Two lanes will be open in each direction. Starting at 11 00 m. Righnow. An00 tomorrow morning. Similar closures will happen sunday night. All lanes are heto open 5 00 monday morning. And the bay areas most iconic bridge seeing heavy traffic due to closed lanes. Southbound traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge is down to one lane while northbound is down to two lanes. The lanes should be back open tomorrow morning. Overnight closures are expected to continue until wednesday. So expect delays on those nights. New tonight, at projectile hit a car in monterrey county. The chp says something hit a cars windshield on highway 101. Similar incidents have happened in the same area more than 40 times this year. This time, the cars window did not break. But windows did break on two vehicles last night. One of them happened to be a school bus carrying the Carmel High SchoolFootball Team to a game in san jose. The broken glass injured a student. He is expected to be okay. The team continued onto the game. Though the kickoff was delayed. Investigators are not sure if the same people are responsible for the incidents. Oakland police say they are putting the brakes on side shows. Opd says it is trying to end scenes like that. Police said there were ten teens in the van driving on eightmile road in stockton when the vehicle lost control. And crashed into ten feet of marshy water. You never know whats going to happen. The other eight children were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say alcohol did not play a role in the crash. Two Oakland Police officers are being credited tonight with saving a life. Officer jose vega explained the scene this morning. Outside the east mont station when a driver pulled up to the building with a backseat passenger that appeared to be dead. The training he and fellow officers m on the ground and started cpr. The brother advised me he had taken some drugs and we had been trained on this by the opd medical staff and issued narcan. So, i administered narcan to the subject. He began breathing again. The man who overdosed is recovering. The hospital donated 800 units of narcan for them to use and so far they have saved five lives.
