We begin tonight with some breaking news. A full on fire fight in Southern California as we speak. These are live pictures of the maria fire which has quadrupled in size in just hours. It covers some 4,000 acres, fueled by 35 miles per near th prompting mandatory evacuations. Crews say theres 0 percent containment. Its just downhill from the radar which is important because the sweep is able to detect the new plume of smoke. Thats usually a concerning concern for the fire, if its already putting so much smoke into the air that the weather radar is detecting it. That shows us where it is. The other fire is back fear. Thats a different one, and throughout the overnight hours the winds will only get stronger there. That one needs to be watched. Ill be back with the forecast coming up in a few minutes. Since it broke out 8 days ago its burned more than 77,000 acres and destroyed nearly 250 structures including 165 homes. Police in gilroy are investigating a massive side show that turned a target parking lot into a road show. Some residents say theyve had enough.
