One in Critical Condition after explosions in huntington beach. That happened at an oktoberfest celebration. A transformer outside a restaurant exploded. Two firefighters were hurt. Two people were hurt as well. We will bring you more on this story on kpix. Com now, onto the fire danger across the bay area. Specifically the north bay as we take a look at the warm sunset in vacaville. If you thought it was warm outside today, wait until tomorrow. Meteorologist darren peck joins us with a first look at the weather and dangers coming with it. Reporter that warmup is how most of us will experience sunday. I want to show you those numbers coming up in a second. If you are in the north bay, in hills or communities surrounded by the hills we need to be ready the next 11 hours. We have a red flag warning for the areas highlighted in bay and located in the hills. Whether it is in the vaca hills or the range here in the west. Not only for napa, take a look toward the northern part of Sonoma County. Red flag warning in effect until 10 arm tomorrow. If we look at what the wind is going so far, we havent noticed much, but watch the time frame. And you see that real up tick in the winds. The brighter the red, the stronger the gust. Red shows you where question got 40 miles an hour gusts and it is confined to the mountains. Most of us wont notice this tomorrow. But, you can see the streamline showing you it is an offshore breeze. It is the warmup that the rest of us are going to notice while we are keeping an eye on the hills in the north bay. Tomorrow, temperatures will jump another seven to eight degrees above what we did today. Today was kind of warm. Tomorrow, you are going to notice a little more. And ill be back with that coming up in the forecast in a few minutes. The north bay remains under a red flag warning tonight. The east bay had a big scare this afternoon. A fast moving brush fire in danville threatened two houses an burned up a hillside. Happened on glen court at the end of the culdesac. As the flames approached, neighbors pulled out their garden hoses to spray down the hot spots while firefighters focused on saving their homes. Within about 10 to 15 minutes, the whole hill was engulfed. And it was headed toward my house. We can only help you as much as you help yourself. If we ask for defensible space, do it. This fire was able to slow down in certain areas because the neighborhood did do their defensible space. The fire burned up to four acres. Investigators are look into whether a compost pile sparked those flames. In the north bay, this week marks the twoyear anniversary of the sonoma complex fires. 44 people were killed in the tubs, and pocket fires. Flames broke out in 2017 and werent put out until 23 days later. Over 100,000acre burned and on tuesday, residents along with firefighters will gather to remember the fire victims. If you fete shaken up today, you are not alone. An earthquake jolted people awake all over the peninsula acting as a morning wakeup call. Some took to twitter saying they almost ran out into the street. In their pjs rattling travel down to san jose and to the east bay. Luckily, there were no reports of serious damage or injuries. But, people also told kpix5 it seemed a lot bigger than it actually was. It felt like i was on a bridge and a heavy truck was going over. A small rumble. It felt like a little wave. Reporter Redwood City Police say a person has died weeks after being hit by a police cruiser, the 25yearold alex hill was killed when Angela Whitman lost control of her car. The officer was responding to a nearby Home Invasion at the time. Officers might be saying hill wasnt using a crosswalk, standing on the median. The car crossed into oncoming traffic. The drivers of the other cars werent hurt. An oregon man is behind bars after Belmont Police said he stabbed his elderly father. Officers arrested 61yearold thomas love this morn at a home on terrace drive. They said love was visiting his 91yearold father when he stabbed him while the man slept. The victim was rushed to the hospital by family members who told police it was an unprovoked attack. The man is still in the hospital tonight expected to be okay. Palo alto police are asking for the publics help in finding a missing man with dementia. 84yearold jerry fisher was last spotted walking west on Greenwood Avenue near newell road. Police officers in surrounding cities are also looking for him. Family members say he was last seen wearing a white sweater. Black pants, and dark shoes. They say he walks with something of a slouch. Anybody who finds him is asked to call 911 and watch over him until officers arrive. With mysterious vaping related illnesses on the rise, and baffling health officials, Sonoma County is considering a crackdown. The board of supervisors is looking to a flavored tobacco ban and considering temporarily suspending the sale of vaping products. The measures are in onse to alarming cdc reports of over 1,000 vaping related illnesses and 19 deaths around the country. This person has been a season ticketholder five years and sits court side. A lot of the staff is the same. But at the same time, the energy, the excitement, the freshness of the area, the lounges, the food options. Its great to see the differences. Starting later this month, lax will end ride share and taxi curb side pickups. Travelers will instead have to take a shuttle bus to catch their ride. But its the price claudia pays to pick up her ride share passengers. One out of every four cars are ride shares like uber and lyft. Laxs director of operations says congestion is only getting worse so the airport is now banning ride shares from curb side pickups and moving them to a dedicated lot 1234 pick up the shuttle bus. On a dedicated lane. So, theres no more of it getting caught in other congestion. It will bring you to this lot. Its called la exit. That will waste a lot of time. That will be huge hassle. The ride sharing plan could cut down on congestion by 15 . Uber and lyft say they have concerns and are working with the airport. The congestion crunch is a complication for ride sharing and other cities as well. Boston voted on limited Ride Share Companies from the curb side dropoffs. And new york city is charging ride shares a new fee to get a handle on the gridlock. In the bay area, sfo has moved ride sharing to the domestic parking garage. These numbers are showing you how far above average sundays daytime highs will be and there is a pattern on here. Warmest numbers are at the coast. 13 degrees above average for San Francisco. Only 8 degrees above for concord. When you look at it this way, you can see we have a classic october pattern going on. Sunshine and warm temperatures near the coast. This is the month we will do it. If we do the comparison on todays numbers, it is one thing to show you how far above average we will be. Here is how much warmer we will be tomorrow than today. For San Francisco, an 8degree increase. There will be a lot more in the way of tee shirts. For santa rosa, 84 today. We are going up 7 degrees tomorrow. You are going up to 91. Now, it starts to be borderline hot. For some of those inland locations. So, it is a beautiful weekend. It is just going to be noticeably warmer tomorrow. And if you happen to look up, you may notice interesting clouds. A cool storm will pass overhead and we will pick up a few high clouds from it. We are not getting any rain from it. But you will notice, we have some unique visitors and mid level clouds tomorrow. The real pattern story comes when you look at the winds. Center of High Pressure spinning clock wise. Watch tomorrow. Its still there. Migrated a little. Thats where it is tomorrow by the time we get to sunday at 4 00. But thats still the reason we are so warm. Now, watch how things change as we go into tuesday. Those big center of High Pressure are gone. And, we have brought back the on shore flow. Tuesday, we get a cooldownment youll see that in the forecast. But it is not really the headline. Because it is what happens next that will become the most important part of the seven day forecast. Tuesday afternoon wednesday and watch the development here of much stronger northerly winds. So yes, we have a red flag warning. This pattern looks more impressive for stronger northerly winds an drier conditions and we will likely be talking more fire weather concerns by the time we get into wednesday and thursday. You wont see anything that stands out. We are only taking daytime highs no the low 80s. And temperatures pretty much right on the market for where they should be in the bay.
