But as kpix 5s Katie Nielsen reports, the massive rocks keep ending up on the street, and now the city is caught between a rock and a hard place. Reporter this is the boulder battleground, these dozen massive rocks shoved into the streets, sometime overnight, in an apparent protest. This all started two weeks ago, when some neighbors got together to put the rocks on the sidewalk, to deter homeless encampments. And the open use, and sale of drugs. Since then, it has been nothing but a battle, people keep pushing the rocks into the street, and crews from San Franciscos department of public works keep putting them back on the sidewalk, most recently, yesterday afternoon. And today, they are back in the red. This cycle has actually happened three times in the past week. But, neighbors are now divided on whether there massive boulders are the right answer to San Franciscos homeless crisis. Others say they are just fed up with the citys lack of action. There is frequently tense, people sleeping, people taking drugs. I have seen people should appear, and i am just trying to walked on the street with my dog. So i completely understood why whoever plays the rocks here what their motivation was. I think it is incredible how all blocks the neighborhoods and neighbors can pull together, and spend so much effort, time and money into something that doesnt seem the most positive, or productive into the problem they are trying to solve. Reporter wesley spent hours this afternoon, writing messages of love and sidewalk chalk, right near the entrance to the clinton park alley, just the few yards the boulders. He said he wants to encourage dialogue between neighbors, and has been amazed at how much motion the rocks generated on both sides. The spokesperson with San Franciscos department of public works said they did send crews out this morning to put up the cones, and caution tape around the boulders, that are in the street. But they do not have any plans currently to put them back on the sidewalks, instead they say they are looking at all options, and will continue to work with, and support the neighbors. But these isolated showers, if you happen to get one, right over you, like what diego bay has got kindest mainly over the water at this point. That is a good little bit of rain. Maybe even some thunder, mixed in with that could we see those isolated like that, we know the storm has the potential to produce some fairly strong cells. Now juul is pushing prop c, to overturn San Franciscos ecigarette protections. Say no to juul, no to big tobacco, no to prop c. We are getting a look tonight at space xs new rocket. Ceo elon musk unveiled his new rocketship. 39 feet, not including the lake spent a it will give you the sense of the size. So, the little pixels there, that is the little pixels are human. And then that is the hopper next week. The millennium falcon and then the starship, which is what you see, before you and that is what it is will look like with a full stack. In the lets believe it when we see it department, the rocket rocket is supposed to fly 100 passengers to the moon, or mars, neither of which are stars by the way. Musk says the starship could achieve orbit in six months, carrying its first passengers, sometime next year. That is why you are typing. You wrote into lets believe it. Department you know what, i knew that with you. I was trying to not laugh too loudly has his name all over it. You have to believe there is some snow coming our way. Up to the sierra. So i want to show you what it looks like up there now, and what is going to happen between now and sunrise market because most of the snow is going to fall, starting in the next two hours, and then overnight, but first here is home. That is the view from the top of the salesforce tower, looking out towards the east. Clouds look different than what we typically see, at least if you are observing those things, those are cumulous clouds out there. Look like and balls. We normally have the flat ones that look like stratus clouds, but we have got a stormy area, and it is okay, cloud watching weather today. These are the daytime highs, anywhere from 7 00 to 7 to 10 degrees below average this time of the year, but thankfully we got a little wind. So it didnt feel as well called hopefully. Let me point out something tomorrow morning. We have not seen winning lows get down into the low 40s for some of our inland spots, like up in santa rosa, those inland valleys, Sonoma County, since since march. This will be a call this morning on monday since you set aside, if you are in and around the bay, for much of the bay area, there isnt too much of a difference, just be prepared we had a storm moved through. There is colder the sierra. All those things are signs the seasons are doing their much thats what it looks like right now. And there is like to how out there, off in the distance. Snow going to be low enough tonight out there, that we will actually get some light snow out to lake level. That is at 6000 feet. Watch what happens on the accumulation here. We are going to go from now, through sunrise tomorrow. And that is when the bulk of this happened. Another four inches of snow, on donner summit, and for south lake tahoe, an inch, that might be on the high side of the forecast. But at least a dusting of snow, likely done from the communities. Like southlake, and tahoe city, and incline village. In late september, there have been many winters where that went by, where that was a rare side, but it will at least be cold enough for that to happen in the overnight hours, and into tomorrow. So winter wer advisory stays in effect until 5 00 on monday, because by then, the snow will have quieted down. So the main point here is difficult trouble for anyone tonight over i80 and i50. Talking a lot about that. Where is it raining now in the bay area . Really isolated Sonoma County has been our focus look at this right here, i have slowed on the last hour command i am going to come in for a close on the silverado trail. That is napa valley, between st. Helena and calistoga that is good rain right now. And you think, hey, there is a concern moving through the bay area. Heres some perspective look isolated that is. Most of us dont get anything but if you did get it it will be an impressive rainmaker if you move out. That is weight is going to go for the bay area as a whole tonight. Whats the future custer maybe a few stray showers, there is another one in Sonoma County. Here is tomorrow morning that is 2 00 a. M. , maybe done in santa clara county, but you wont get much on this will not have a big impact on the morning commute tomorrow. So heres the senday recaste will keep it cool for the rest of the week and then we are going to warm back up to average, by the time this week. Of weill be afte, mid70s for gh, i am paula haddock, and rob, tell your viewers at home who should be calling in right now. Just like you said paula. And on our national company, we asked one bay area Coffee Roaster to show us what it takes to make that good to the last drop. Whether at home or on the road most of us start with a cup of coffee. And if that cup provides more than just a back bridge. Escape it is comfort time to relax before the rest of the day begins. I meet with my friends for a cup of coffee in the morning. Makes like your feel like your day is starting off right. Nicholas harris manages coffee and tea. I have been in the Coffee Business for about 12 years now, a very stuff, like most people. And enjoy the community, and the artform around it. And according to harris, the art of crafting coffees and flavor start with the beans. Coffee is just like wine. Flavor and characteristics from the region that it is grown in. Places that the coffee is grown to the laces where people are drinking it is truly worldwide. Beans from across the globe are an integral part, but so is roasting. Although there is proven Science Behind the process, it is much more about intuition. One of the differences between Coffee Roasters would be how they roast their coffee. A huge part of that is the senses that you experience, smell, sight, sounds to decide on when that coffee is finished. So you can have a green coffee that is exactly the same in the hands of different roast masters. And have it turn out, tasting fairly different. When that coffee comes out of the roaster. It just smells so good and comforting. It is like a warm hug. Moments like thats tell harris every day why he enjoys the Coffee Business. We take pride in creating that products, it is probably the most rewarding. I set at the beginning of the newscast, jewel it was feeling extra sleepy, and runoff i got a cup of coffee. How do you feel now . Amazing. What more can you say . Is like this every day. 60 minutes is next. We will see what 11 00. See you at 11 00. Captioning funded by cbs and ford. We go further, so you can. I came to the conclusion that we could not ignore what the president did. He gave us no choice. Its a joke. An impeachment inquiry of President Trump begins this week.
