A close eye has been kept on neighborhoods in napa sonoma and lake counties. They could face power shutoffs as early as tomorrow if the weather changes. One person we talked to said he is all for pg e taking preemptive measures. Only where it makes sense. If that is the case that would be drastic. They cant shut it off in certain where they think it would be dangerous. This schools in santa rosa are on the watch stage for possible Power Outages tomorrow. Hidden valley elementary school. Ren con Valley Middle School and Maria Correio high school. Paul joining me now. It is always hot this time of year. That is not the real concern. The real concern is the high winds. The red flag warning doesnt mean fires are going to start. If they were to start which happens all summer long they have a high risk of spreading quickly. It is because of the wind and the decreased humidity. It is going to be really hot the next couple days. Offshore winds. Northbay and east bay mounds under a red flag warning starting this evening when the winds ramp up to the day tuesday until wednesday morning. It will drop the relative humidity. The winds will be gusting higher than normal. It will be hot outside all taking our fight fire danger to extreme. Even if there are no fires whatsoever and we hope that is the case. It will be pretty hot. Most of the bay area under a heat advisory tomorrow during the day and wednesday during the day. It will be warm at night. Temperatures outside tolerable but 70s and 80s. Not hot yet. That comes tomorrow. Santa rosa currently 85. Livermore 78. Concorde 84. The highs tomorrow it will be windy in the mountains. Relative humidity will feel low. For another couple days of uncertainty about the power in the northbay. As you might expect that has people interested in going shopping. First thing in the morning we have people calling in. Private residences the people at the airport. Businesses around. Everybody is concerned. I got a call from the wife. She said we are going to need power tonight. Reporter Hardware Store owners are stocking more of these now that preemptive blackouts have people coming in and frequently asking about them and parts of the northbay that are accustomed to winter storms. They are checking on their more oldfashioned generators. Whenever the power goes out come out here and switch it on. Reporter a lot of things to worry about with those portable generators. Consider all of the safety precautions you should be thinking about. It is watching the weather tonight and into tomorrow. See if it does in fact have to cut the power off again here in the northbay. Prosecutors are calling it a custody battle that ended in murder. The trial of a hillsboro heiress accused of killing her boyfriend in 2016. Todays Opening Statements at the redwood city courthouse. Reporter prosecutors say this was a premeditated murder the result of a long and bitter custody battle when the couple over their two children. Defense attorneys say this was a kidnapping gone awry. The wrong people are on trial. Prosecutors portrayed hillsboro tiffany li is a cheating girlfriend who plotted with her new boyfriend to kill her x and the father of her two girls because he wanted too much money for child support. Opening statements deputy da bryant said she lurid the father keith green to her chateau mansion in 2016. To discuss the children were her new boyfriend forced a gun into greens mouth breaking a tooth and then he pulled the trigger. They then hired his friend Olivier Adella to describe this both of greens body which was found decomposing up the side of a road in Sonoma County. Prosecutors were not available for comment but defense lawyer said it was Olivier Adella who alone murdered green in a botched kidnapping attempt. They are prosecuting the case. They have the wrong people on trial. Reporter tiffany li sat motionless throughout the day. Her attorney said prosecutors ignored evidence pointing to Olivier Adella. He agreed to plead guilty to assess three to murder and was to be the star witness. But he was arrested for alleged witness tampering on the eve of the child. That could make the prosecutions case entirely circumstantial. Circumstantial evidence is overwhelming it was mr. Olivier adella and the companies of others. And the evidence is lacking as it relates to tiffany li. Reporter they are being tried in a murder case prosecutors admit will hinge on highly technical cell phone records that tied the defendant and the victim to the murder scene. A neighborhood hercules is stepping up security and privacy is top of mind. Neighborhood just installed two motion activated cameras that record cars in their license plates. The cameras are not connected to the police or the city. And store the video in the cloud for 30 days. The neighborhood is paying 2000 a year to maintain the devices. Some people might think their privacy will be affected. Not for me personally. I come home like 1 am. I feel better that the camera is there. Union city is grappling with a computer virus that shut down most of the citys service. Now the feds are getting involved. The city discovered the problem saturday morning. Virtually every city owned laptop and death top computer is locked down including many used by the Police Department. An area that is hit for police are not only the mobile Desktop Computers but also computers located in our Police Department that helps officers to produce reports. It did surprise me.
