More than 20 inches of rain has fallen in winnie, just east of houston. Yesterday several tornadoes touched down in houston. The area also got hit with heavy rain just in time for the evening rush hour commute. Some parts received more than ten inches of rain. Galveston spent most of yesterday under water. Highways were flooded. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for southeheast texas and partsf louisiana through this evening. And more trouble could be on the way. There are currently six active named storms in the atlantic and eastern pacific basins. That ties a modern record set in 1992. Hurricane lorrainas the latest to form, threatening southwestern mexico.
