Reporter this is the woman police arrested. 43yearold Rebecca Deleo of santa cruz county. She faces several charges including assault and vandalism. While police did not release a motive, they referred to her as a demonstrator. I pushed you. Reporter last month, an antivaccine protester shoved a sacramento senator richard pan in the street. The people need to stan and say we want to defend our democracy. We are not going to allow people who interfere with democracy by attacking your elected representatives while we do our job. Reporter tensions have been high at the capital after the last few weeks. Another session was interrupted by antivaccine protesters. On monday, Governor Newsom signed a pro vaccine bill. I support the legislation we passed to make sure children are vaccinated in the schools. People can disagree with that. But when that tips into assaulting elected officials, thats an attack on democracy. Reporter long time capitol public radio rub pick ben adler witnessed the drama. Another bill the demonstrator could have been protesting would have allowed Abortion Pills at College Campuses as an on campus medical service. A santa rosa toddler is dead, a man fighting for his life and facing murder charges if he survives. Police responding to a home today to find 29yearold Patrick Oneal unconscious next to a 13 month old boy. That child pronounced dead by paramedics. Officers said they found items in the home consistent with drug use. They believe oneals actions caused the death of the little boy. Oneal was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Police say if he survives, he will be charged with murder. The coroner will determine what caused the toddlers death. A live look now outside across the bay area. What the president will support is far from clear. A lot of progress was made, i believe on the background checks and the various things having to do with guns. Reporter the president said he is working with both parties on a gun control proposal. Seems like they would like to do something and i can speak for republicans, they would like to do something. Reporter but that something is still elusive. The white house has been talking to a trio of lawmakers. Democrats chris murphy and joe mansion and republican pat toomey. They all support tougher background checks. We have to have meaningful background checks. Reporter after the recent Mass Shootings in dayton, el paso, and gilroy, President Trump called for gun control legislation. I took it meaningful. Meaningful background checks. Defined what meaningful means and quickly backed off after talking to the National Rifle association. We already have very serious background checks. Reporter then, the president called Mass Shootings a Mental Health issue and criticized what he sees as overzealous democrats. Democrats want to confiscate guns from lawabiding americans so they are totally defenseless when someone walks into their house with a gun. Reporter some of his fellow democrats now fear his words will be used against their efforts to pass new gun laws. I frankly think that clip will be played for years. At Second Amendment rallies with organizations that try to scare people by saying democrats are coming for your guns. But, his base is not as supportive and the president does not want to risk angering them going into an election yearment. While Tropical Storm humberto is not expected to make landfall, forecasters say it could cause life threatening surf and rip Current Conditions from east Central Florida north carolina. Maybe you can see in the distance, the peaks are rising up above it. That marine layer is not very high. It is pushing down, the marine layer is getting swatched and it is stuck over here in the bay. You cant get to the inland location because the High Pressure is holding it down. Tomorrow, that High Pressure weakens and the marine layer will be allowed to rise or deepen sometimes you hear it called a deepening marine layer. When it does that, it is able to get over the hills and that is how you cool down. Here is what that means. Daytime highs today on the left, lets do the comparison for sunday. Concord, you will be 15degree cooler tomorrow. Santa rosa, 10 degrees cooler. And we will cool down here for San Francisco, oakland, and san jose. We did a lot of cooling down today. But, youll still add a little more on top of that. But it wont be as dramatic as todays drop. Theres the 84 for concord. We have a weak storm approaching from the northwest. We seal the leading edge of it. We notice this bay area wide. By the afternoon, the wind will pick up again. Much like it did earlier this week if you remember that.
