Reporter Hurricane Dorian is here in florida, lashing this coastal community. This beach was closed earlier this afternoon and authorities are urging people to shelter in place tonight. Some counties have issued curfews with a dangerous storm surge forecast overnight. And tonight we are also getting our first aerial look at the humanitarian crisis that is unfolding in the bahamas. Look at this. Stunning images. This is actually abaco island. Homes flattened as far as the eye can see. The official death toll is five, t xp t go much higher. Abaco and grand bahama were pounded by dorian for two solid days. The red cross says nearly half of the homes were damaged or destroyed. 62,000 people are without drinking water. Philadelphias top prosecutor is making a National Name for himself since he took office 19 months ago. Nine people have been exonerated, some of them were serving life sentences. Hes also fired 31 people who worked in his office. Well, i spoke to the prosecutor behind the changes as well as three men who were exonerated and finally set free. I spent 27 years, 11 mows in prison. I did 21 years 5 months 5 days. I spent approximately 24 years in prison. Before it was over, i was being charged with murder. Chester homan. Terrence lewis. And johnny berry have always maintained their innocence. And now the court system agrees. Overturning their convictions for Second Degree murder, robbery, and conspiracy, all of them now in their 40s have been exonerated. Physically im free. Its just a lot of emotional things im dealing with. Im trying to find myself. In july, a judge freed chester holman after prosecutors reopened his case and proved he was innocent of the 1993 murder for which he was serving life in prison. Authorities always had evidence that pointed to other suspects, but that evidence was not disclosed at the time of his conviction. Each day ive gotten stronger and im better. The straight shooter also says hes determined not to waste court time, jail space or tax dollars on prosecuting lowlevel offenses like Marijuana Possession or petty theft. But when it comes to those issues, his critics say hes releasing criminals that are likely to commit another crime. For judges who think or have said youve gone rogue, and that youre a group of renegades, how do you respond to that . Well, first of all, i have huge respect for the judiciary. It is a small portion among them who i think take this personally. When we say what we say and were very direct about it, that these policies and the people who were in the d.
